I HAVE NOT BEEN MADE TO FEEL LIKE A CRIMINAL IN MANY YEARS! I WAS ORIGINALLY TOLD AT 10:15 TO WAIT BECAUSE HER SISTER WOULD BE RIGHT BACK. I WAITED ITS NOW 11AM NO SISTER!!! I ASKED WHAT TIME WAS HER SISTER COMING? THE RESPONSE WAS SHE IS COMING FROM PHILADELPHIA. OK SO ITS NOW 11:15 I ASK WHAT TIME IS HER SISTER COMING? SHE THEN SAYS SHE WILL CALL HER NOW. WELL AT THAT POINT I WAITED FOR 1 HOUR AND 15 MINUTES! THE SISTER NEVER ANSWERED! SHE THEN SAID THAT HER AND HER OTHER SISTER WOULD WORK ON MY HEAD TOGETHER AND THAT THEY WERE ALMOST DONE. SO I THOUGHT OK I WAITED THIS LONG! IT TOOK ANOTHER 1.15 ! I WAS NOT SEATED 2.5 HOURS ALL TOGETHER TO EVEN START ON MY HEAD!!! I ASK WHERE IS AN ATM AS THEY ONLY ACCEPT CASH. I WENT ACROSS THE STREET AND GOT THE MONEY. WHEN I SAT DOWN APPROXIMATELY 1/2 DONE I CALLED MY FINACE AND TOLD HIM THAT I WOULD CALL WHEN ON MY WAY. AS SOON AS I MADE THAT CALL SHE STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF MY HEAD AND SAID I HAD TO PAY NOW! HUH? SHE THEN POINTED TO A SIGN AND TOLD ME IT SAYS SO ON THE SIGN! WELL I AM A NEW CUSTOMER AND I WAITED FOR 2.5 HOURS BEFORE YOU STARTED!!!! SHE CLEARLY THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO LEAVE WITHOUT PAYING!!! I AM APPALLED!!! I AM A SCHOOL COUNSELOR AND HAVE BEEN A PROFESSIONAL FOR OVER 30 YEARS! I AM NOT A THIEF! SO THEY ARGUED AND ARGUED THE TWO BLACK WOMEN JUMPED IN AND SAID THAT IT WAS IN DEED THE POLICY (BUT THEY HAD NOT PAID ANY MONEY AND THEIR HAIR WAS ALMOST DONE) WHAT WAS I TO DO MY HAIR WAS HALF BRAIDED! I GAVE THEM THE MONEY NOT KNOWING IF I WOULD BE PENALIZED FOR HAVING THIS UNNECESSARY ARGUMENT. OF COURSE THEY WERE ALSO LOUD AND SPEAKING IN THEIR OWN LANGUAGE. THE SISTER PULLED MY HAIR AND WAS PARTICULARLY NASTY! I WILL NEVER COME HERE AGAIN! I AM NOT...

When I arrived to Dley's African Braiding salon, I asked for knotless braids. The stylist said she could do my hair, and it would take 4 hours. After sitting down, I was told that box braids would be a better option because I big chopped 4 months ago and cut my locks. About an hour into getting my hair done, I went to the bathroom and to my surprise, their was a full length mirror. Something told me to spin around and look at my hair, and I was completely traumatized with what I saw. I immediately flipped out because their were literally marble sized braids with different size and variations of parts. The owner calmed me down, and said she would make the stylist redo the sections that I didn't like. Instead of focusing on making sure my braids were uniform, she was to worried about talking on the phone. I gave her a chance to finish the style. One good thing about this place is they have a 72 hour customer satisfaction policy where they will do repairs to any style. Well I went back on the third day with my husband because one of my braids came out. She had another stylist fix the braid and then the preceded to cut the braid shorter than the rest of my hair. Long story short I asked for knotless box braids and walked out with with waist length marble knotted braids. It's a week later, and I am taking these damn braids out. The amount of tension on my head is not worth the money I spent. I am literally sitting here snatching whole braids out of my head. Do yourself a favor and NEVER GET YOUR HAIR DONE...

I went to the salon on 2/6 for 4 feed in braids. I was skeptical at first to try the salon since it was my first time but I figured why drive a hour to north jersey for 4 feed in braids. I called ahead and was told to come at a specific time. They started on my hair right away which was good. As the braider went along she allowed me to check the braids and I thought they were fine so she continued. It wasn’t until I went home and used a hand mirror to check my style that I noticed that the parts were not straight. I didn’t think that would be a concern since It was a salon. I contacted one of the branders, who may have been the owner. She initially justified the crooked parts by telling me that the braids were nice. She offered to redo my hair if I came back to the salon within 3 days. I was unable to do that since I was leaving for vacation. I am very disappointed that I paid $70 ($60 with a $10 tip) for a style that was not salon quality. I’ve had my hair braided numerous of times and never had fo worry about crooked parts.
