If you’re a true beginner, do not take the motorcycle class. It is rushed, unsupportive, and unsafe.
The instructors tried to end hours early, rushed us through each drill with only 2–3 attempts, and pressured students to ride beyond their comfort level. When I voiced that I wasn’t ready, I was told I “had to” go faster and compared to other students who were “doing fine.” That’s not teaching — that’s intimidation.
The training motorcycles were poorly maintained. Mine required duct tape to keep a part from falling off, would not shift properly into neutral, and slipped into neutral while moving. Another student’s bike had to be roll-started. Instead of adjusting the bike to fit me, I was told to sit on the gas tank of one that was too wide.
Before class even started, we were required to sign multiple waivers saying there would be no refunds under any circumstance. Staff even admitted that “almost every class someone walks off,” which speaks volumes about the culture here.
