Carl's Custom Meats — Local services in Camp Verde

I was very disappointed with this business and it’s proprietor Carl. My sister and I went in parts on a beef cow. When he received the beef, he reached out to my sister for her cut order, but never reached out to me for my order. So instead of calling me for my order, he just assumed that mine would be the same as my sisters. When I called him to discuss, he couldn’t be bothered to speak with me on the phone, he answered, then continued his discussion with a person he was speaking with. All of which is very rude and unprofessional. I then texted him to get the time for pick up and address. He did respond. I asked how large of a cooler I needed to bring. He said 120cu would be enough. Luckily I brought two other coolers just in case. I filled up the 120cu plus all of one other cooler and a Qtr of another. If I had brought only the 120, I’d been way short. When I went to pay, he told me that they only accept check or cash. I told him that would have been nice to know when I spoke with him on the phone, or even when we texted each other. I had to go the the gas station and was charged a significant amount in transaction fees. I found Carl to be very unprofessional, rude and un business like. I wonder how he has survived this long in business treating customers like this. I definitely won’t be doing business with this...

+JMJ Friday 17 November 2023. Though familiar with this butcher shop for quite a number of years, I never had an opportunity to go inside. I was there mostly to settle a business deal with the owner, Carl Daniel's. Was offered a warm welcome by the receptionist who listened attentively to my explanation for being there. After a moment, she was able to let me know that Mr Daniel's would be available after working on a meat order. Their wait area is small but very comfortable with a table and a few fur covered tall chairs. Also, there are several signs posted, which I found factual but comical. Upon Mr Daniel's appearance, we completed our business transaction, and I departed. Must say that because of the business nature of Carl's Custom Meats, it is improbable that I would use their services: bringing in something I hunted to be butchered. But, I can recommend them for their dedication to their duties and for the professional manner of taking care of...

It's not often that you get Drawn in Arizona and not very often you leave a hunt successful so you want to get the best with what you get and at Carl's you get the best. I took my Deer to Carl's for the first time a little skeptical because I have had such bad service in the past other places with bone fragments and hair left on the meat. The customer service was amazing met Carl and he was super cool and told me about my options and new recipes that I had to try that he makes. Although they were super busy they took no time at all to process my deer and get it back to me. I have only opened half of my packages but everything has been amazing so far good summer sausage, Jalapeñ cheddar slim Jim's, italian sausage and breakfast. I will always go to Carl's and I will always recommend them from now on. My only regret is I didn't get a bigger deer to try more...
