Overall, I have always had a good experience here. My last dog I adopted from them, I felt could have had a little more care, but I know they didn't have a vet on staff at the time. They do euthanize, which is how I have gotten most of my babies, because I swooped in and saved them, but I truly believe they try their best. The problem isn't them, it is all the citizens in the county who breed, and who abandon and neglect their dogs. I will say a lot of times they label dogs as dog aggressive, or needs to be the only dog, because they may have had an incident there at the pound, and I believe it was just because of the environment. I have brought home "dog agreesive" dogs from there, and they were not. Staff has always been friendly to me. Their typical adoption price is $100 adults to $150 puppies, which honestly for full vetting and neuter is amazing. They also have times of the year where they cut adoption prices also to try to get the dogs homes. They do not cat test dogs, as they only take in dogs and have no cats at the facility. If you are wanting a dog, please go meet some of the pups there! Pound and rescue dogs are amazing dogs! Just because a dog is there does not mean it is a bad dog. Most dogs are there not by their own fault, but because of people. People suck. Not the dogs. Sometimes they even hand out vouchers for training sessions, or grooming. The dogs there deserve homes and to live. Be their hero. They needs us, because whoever had them before let them down. The dog Warden tries their best, but they need us to help them. "I don't have time for a dog." Is not a viable excuse. Most of these dogs just want some food and somewhere to sleep. A home. Dogs are not difficult. They love any amount of time you are there. Get them an animal companion if you're that concerned that they are lonely. You can adopt more than one! "I just want a puppy." That's okay, they get those too. Watch for them. But to be honest, puppies are much harder work than adult or senior dogs. Dogs who already know better, know commands, potty trained, and who are okay relaxing at home alone. Every dog I have adopted from here, have all been amazing dogs. Even the ones with disabilities. Dogs I truly believe are the only creatures that will always love you more than they love themselves. Some of the dogs they have gotten in have been through traumatic things, and yet they still choose to love. Give them a chance. Some take a little longer to open up, but it is worth it. I rescued one who had been a bait dog. Scars all over her, had extreme fear. I brought her home. Little by little I won her heart. She is an AMAZING DOG. My little best friend. Go to the Dog Warden, meet some of these dogs, the staff is very friendly, they give you one on one time with the dogs, find your new best friend, and...
Read morePLZ LET OUR PUPPY COME HOME. Im soooooo upset right now. My soon to be 6 month old pup was found to be missing Thursday I had to go out of town and left him with a family member. I looked to see if I could see him on sites and I didn't. I came down yesterday Oct 1st and seen he was at there facility. I then talk to the warden he said bring me a pic to show me he is yours. I asked him at that time when they closed he said 4pm neither me nor my daughter heard him say anything about him waiting for me to bring it back down I live at least 15-20 min from the facility. When leaving my home I noticed it was 2 min after 4 an told myself I got to get him first thing in the morning. I woke up and called at 730am this morning yes I know that they were not opened but I wanted and need them to know I would be there when they opened. When I arrived they said I could not have him and said they would not call the family to tell them I showed. Wow no comparison. I am sitting outside the facility now because I contacted a lawyer and waiting for him to call back. If I really didn't care or want him I would not have called to leave a voice mail or came back. He will be 6months this month and is actually my grandson dog. I'M HOPING AND PRAYING THE FAMILY WILL SEE THIS HE IS A PIT REDDISH IN COLOR THE WARDEN WOULD HAVE TALK TO YOU OCTOBER 1ST ABOUT HIM PLZ LET OUR...
Read moreNo one likes to bail their fury friends out of doggie jail but the staff here made it suck just a little bit less. They were very helpful from the time I was frantically looking for my dogs to the time I was walking the little jailbirds to my car. It's also hard to say thank you to anyone that gives you a pretty hefty fine for not registering your four legged friends and for allowing them to run the streets at all hours of the night but I really do appreciate how they took my dogs in and then sent me their mug shots the next morning when I was posting "lost dog" ads on any social media platform I could think of. (the relief I felt when I saw my babies looking at the camera with the guiltiest looks on their faces!) Just saying ... Kudos to every single person there that care for our little buddies who randomly run out the door and get themselves lost at 1am. From the volunteers that spend time walking and feeding them to the personnel that ran the front desk and charged me an arm and a leg to bail my pups out ... Thank you for all...
