I've utilized Timber Creek for my dog's care long before they opened their new location across the street from their original building. In the few times I've been, they were very sweet and accommodating for my dog. But in this past month alone, I've been met with rude receptionists, doctors with conflicting treatment options, and overall lack of care.
Over the past year, my dog developed glaucoma, which was managed appropriately until one of her eyes became inflamed. We visited Timber Creek in October of this year and Dr. Sawyer evaluated our dog and prescribed two different eye drops (Dorzolamide for the Glaucoma and Dexamethasone for inflammation) and pain pills for two weeks and requested a revisit. Two weeks go by with improved progress, but we ran out of Dexamethasone and her eye was inflamed again. We visited Timber Creek before Halloween and was checked on by Dr. Demere due to Dr. Sawyer performing a surgery. We gave a synopsis of our dogs last visit and understood that enucleation would potentially be the route to go with our dogs eye condition if it continued to decline. Dr. Demere appeared to advocate for our dog and suggested another month's worth of meds before a re-check. We requested the Dexamethasone be refilled but was given another supply of Dorzolamide. When we asked the tech if we could get the Dexamethasone, she stated we would only need the Dorzolamide since it was allegedly "mixed" with Dexamethasone .
Not even two weeks go by with continued medication use and our dogs eye worsens to the point of her acting lethargic and in pain. My fiancée rushed her to Timber Creek on 11/7, and was met with hostility and poor attitude from the receptionist. The attitude she gave my fiancée was comparable to the idea that we were inconveniencing her with our sick dog. Dr. Sawyer was on duty but didn't bother to even exam our dog. The vet tech (who was kind) told my fiancée (after we explained what Dr. Demere suggested) "oh he's old and sometimes overlooks things." Then she was told that Dr. Sawyer was "just taking our word" for the Dexamethasone we needed and prescribed it. Our dog continued acting lethargic with her eye looking seriously infected.
We eventually took her to Swann Animal Clinic Urgent Care to find out she had a RUPTERED ULCER in her eye that Dr. Sawyer didn't bother to check! We were so well taken care of at Swann and her operation was conducted morning with success and such tender care. As of today, Timber Creek still refuses to send Swann Urgent Care our dogs medical records, despite being given permission by us to do so.
Bringing our pets to the vet is stressful enough knowing the outcome could be not in our favor, or the financial hit we may take caring for our babies. You have so many choices to consider for your pet's care, but I highly suggest you stay away from Timber Creek. Their flashy new and updated building can't hide the unprofessionalism, poor care, and disgusting attitudes some of their...
Read moreI took my cat here 3 weeks ago concerned for his health bc I noticed he was constantly going to the litter box to try to urinate but was only letting out a little bit and peeing in places he shouldn’t have been. (Thank God bc he was telling me he was sick. Psa DO NOT IGNORE THE SIGNS YOUR BABYS ARE GIVING YOU) anyways I took him to the vet immediately when I noticed. they recommended an x ray they didn’t see anything to worry about there so they just assumed he had a urinary tract infection so gave him antibiotics for 5 days and a shot to treat that. Costs about 200$. So we go home and 3 days later nothings changed and now I’m seeing blood in his urine so I call them and tell them that they say to come in so they can do bloodwork just for them to say the same thing as last visit that’s it’s just an infection so they gave him another shot and even more antibiotics to take on top of the other ones and they say just wait n finish all the antibiotics.another $200…. A week and a half passes and my baby stilll is urinating blood. I called and they recommended me get an ultrasound from a vet that will be closed for the next week knowing how frustrated I was and urgently needed assistance with my cat. Obviously bc my cat is not in good condition at all and they didn’t really seem to take it serious. So I just looked up another vet and took him to the coulter animal clinic and I immediately felt welcomed and they took my baby in asap & treated him like it was an emergency and did everything they needed to do to check to see what was wrong with him and found out in 1 visit. I can say that they were very companionate and caring when it came to helping my cat asap. They treated the situation like it was life or death. And I appreciate more than they know. They were very kind with my cat and the vibes of all of the workers there were just amazing! ..But I can say at the timber creek vet when I was there I always felt like the vibes were off.i feel they don’t really care for every animal like it’s there own. they are just there to get a check they are not passionate about helping animals.& I can say they were not the nicest people. And I can say that I didn’t feel that they felt the situation was as important as I felt and knew it was. They didn’t help my cat at all. they definitely wasted a lot of time and my money. !!!It really makes a difference when you are just working for the money and when you are working in an industry that you are passionate and care about.!!!!! I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS VET TO ANYONE.if you looking to go somewhere dependable ,caring , and compassionate go to coulter...
Read moreI would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone that took the time to write a review on Timber Creek Small Animal Hospital's website. For the reviews that were kind and supportive I would like to show our appreciation for the positive feedback. As for as the negative reviews ,we will do our best to correct some of our deficiencies that will make us a better veterinary hospital. It is truly my goal to treat everyone with respect, courtesy and provide all clients and their animals with a professional experience. However, i do feel the need to address some of the negative reviews.
#1. Eric Hill -- A review of the medical records indicated a normal amount of postpartum discharge two days after delivery. I am confused about the "picture" you said you sent? Could this scathing review be based on the fact you wrote us a "hot Check" and I turned you over to our check recovery department? #2. John Hazelwood -- I examined your cat on May 1, 2014, chief complaint was chronic diarrhea. According to the medical records the cat responded well to our medical treatment. The cat developed diarrhea again once medication was stopped, this is when i recommended further testing to determine the etiology behind the chronic bowel disease. Specific testing such as food allergy, parasitic and viral testing were highly recommended. At no time did I ever decline service to you or your cat. #3. Tammy Miller -- I spoke to your daughter "Laci Larrabee" on March 14, 2016. She had adopted a cat through the Humane Society and I spayed her on March 10, 2016. The basis of our conversation was about post surgical pain. I told Lace that we gave an injection called Metacam at the time of surgery and that injection usually provides adequate pain control. At any time after surgery, other meds could have been prescribed to aid in pain control. She then said her cat had a respiratory infection and was being treated at another clinic and I was going to pay for it. I explained that the cat was adopted through the Humane Society and because of the incubation period associated with these diseases there was no way we would have known at the time of surgery. Once again she stated that "I was going to pay for it".......due to the serious breakdown in communication, I told her that our conversation was over.
In closing, Timber Creek will use this input towards improving our customer service and we will continue to strive to provide quality and professional...
