My wife has been coming to this habitat store for the past few months looking for the perfect couch for our family room. Last week she found just the couch she has been looking for. She paid for it and told the cashier that she would pick it up in a couple days since she was driving her car and I had the truck. They said no problem. A couple days later we returned with the truck and was told to park at the loading dock and they would get our couch. After several minutes they came out and said they could not find our couch. We went inside the store and looked where the couch had previously been and it was gone. Then a woman came over and asked if we needed help, and we told her we were looking for our couch. We described it and she said she knew of that couch and it had been sold. It turned out that after my wife paid for that couch, no one had put a sold sign on it and the cashier sold it to someone else. We were heartbroken. We were told that they were very busy that day. They suggested that perhaps we should have put a sold sign on the couch ourselves. Nothing like that was mentioned at the time my wife bought the couch. One of the employees behind the counter told us that "its fine, we will give you your money back" My wife and I both simultaneously replied "its NOT fine, that was our couch!" Lesson here: If you buy something and need to return later to pick it up, there is a real possibility that it will be sold to someone else...
Read moreRestore sold us a washer and dryer that they told us were in good working condition. After renting a Uhaul to bringing the units home and then hooking them up, we found out the washer had a problem where it does not empty correctly. Due to this issue, we asked that they pick up the broken washer and give us a refund. They told us that we would have to bring the washer back and we would only receive a store credit. We tried to explain that we needed to rent a truck to move the units, and had concern with purchasing another unit from them, but all they said was that was "their policy". So now we have a washer that we need to immediately repair.
I recently donated a couch to Restore and they had no problem sending a truck to pick it up, but to pick up a piece of broken merchandise, they are not willing to do it. I havd to say that this is the worst customer service I've received in a long time. I for one will never purchase or donate another item to this disreputable...
Read moreThe mission of HFH is Nobel but this store is a disgrace to the name. This place doesnt help the community or sell items at a low price for needy people. It sells high end furniture (which is all they take they refuse a lot of other stuff) and tries to sell it at prices not even halved of original retail, hell I saw a stove for sale for 50$ more than retail and it was trashed on the glass top. There is some 20-30 year old stereo equipment that they are selling for more than it went for when it came out, a amp that should be 10$ is selling for 90$ what stuff is okay on price is still very dated and or used and abused.
I'm glad the rich people of aspen have a place to get ripped off on overpriced furniture, but this HFH is not the place its organization stands for and only helps those whom dont need help. (Besides the workers it at least gives jobs to...
