I've been going here for 8 years. Until recently all of the employees and products have been great. I like the made on premise salads and usually buy 3 or 4 a week. They cost twice as much as Walmart salads but are twice as good and have better ingredients. But ... recently I bought a salad that was supposed to have avocado as an ingredient. What I got was pieces of avocado (could have been the seed all chopped up, beats me) that were hard as rocks. Broke a tooth on it. That ain't right. Next time I went in I asked a young girl in the salad dept. who looked like she's still in high school about it. She told me that's just the way avocados are this time of year, looked at me disdainfully, gave me a totally dismissive "smile", and walked away while I was still talking, not willing to consider my comments. No, child, avocados are not hard as a rock at certain times of the year unless something is wrong with them, and if they were, only an idiot would put those really hard pieces into a salad for unsuspecting customers to chomp down on. I could have enlightened her a lot relative to avocados, but she had her "woke" ears closed and had no interest in what a consumer of her salads had to say. I don't like rude. These vacuous, wrongly indoctrinated kids today have only contempt for seniors. Most of the employees there are really awesome and attentive to their customers. But times are changing apparently, and not for the better. Not sure I'll ever be back there. Learn to listen to your customers. You might not always be the only...
Read moreThe real workers of Hannaford
My mundane Tuesday turned into a cinematic masterpiece the second I pulled into that Hannaford parking lot. I watched as this man, who seemed to be a connoisseur of bacon and cheese sticks by the looks of it; as he loaded his car. He seemed so normal, so blissfully unaware of the beautiful pandemonium about to unfold.
Then, out of nowhere, they appeared. Not a group of of powerful worker gnomes, but a legion. They swarmed the parking lot, tiny Hannaford-branded uniforms flapping in the wind. Their little hats bobbed up and down as they expertly, almost militaristically, herded the rogue shopping carts into their designated corrals. One of them, a stout gnome with a particularly magnificent beard, was barking orders from atop a rogue shopping cart, his tiny megaphone amplifying his surprisingly booming voice. The man, a true hero in this tale, simply smiled and drove away, oblivious to the fact he had just witnessed a small-scale revolution.
He calls it a "wonderful reminder" of Hannaford's community spirit. I call it a glorious, theatrical display of gnome worker power. The truth is, Hannaford isn't just a store; it's a hidden kingdom. The gnomes aren't just employees; they're the silent, dedicated protectors of the parking lot, ensuring order prevails in a world of shopping cart chaos. My trip to Hannaford was an awakening. The bacon and cheese sticks are just a front for the real magic happening behind the scenes. Now, I can never look at a shopping cart corral the...
Read moreI recently had an amazing experience at Hannaford, my favorite grocery store. As usual, I went there to buy my usual 15 pounds of bacon and cheese sticks. I have been a loyal customer of Hannaford for years, and I have always appreciated the quality of their products, the cleanliness of the store, and the excellent customer service.
However, what made my recent visit to Hannaford truly memorable was what happened when I was in the parking lot. As I was loading my groceries into my car, I saw a group of garden gnomes putting the carts in the cart corrals! It was an unexpected and delightful sight. The gnomes were dressed in Hannaford uniforms and seemed to be having a great time working together.
Seeing the gnomes in action was a wonderful reminder that Hannaford is not just a great grocery store, but also a part of the community. They clearly care about their customers and their employees, as well as the environment. It was heartwarming to see the gnomes taking such good care of the carts and helping to keep the parking lot clean.
Overall, I cannot recommend Hannaford enough. Their products are top-notch, their staff is friendly and helpful, and their commitment to the community is evident in everything they do. I will continue to shop at Hannaford for years to come, and I hope to see more of those adorable garden gnomes...
