This place is horrible! Aside from a select few great nurses (and they know who they are) that cared for my dad, the nursing staff is just there for a paycheck. One of the main nurses my dad had was a drug addict who tested positive for several drugs while employed there. They had no choice to let her go. Of course, she is friends with the DNA and Administrator, so they let that slide that she was a known drug addict. She was administering meds to patients!!! I wonder if the NSCBN has been notified about her actions. On several occasions, she neglected my dad while he was in her care and we brought this to the DNA and Administrator's attention, but of course, nothing was done. My dad contracted CDIFF while there. Of course, with a CDIFF patient, you should wear a gown, mask and gloves and practice good hygiene, i.e. washing hands, cleaning of linens, cleaning of room, etc We would gown, glove and mask up, but the staff rarely wore a gown, gloves or a mask while caring for him, and did not wash their hands after touching him. (There was rarely soap or paper towels in his room either) My mom had to provide hand soap because the room's soap dispenser was always empty. Besides the fact that we never saw housekeeping staff in there and we were there every single day for hours visiting with my dad. I have pictures of the filthy floor in his room that was covered with spilled meds and feeding among dirt and debris. We would clean his room and wash the floors while there. How do they pass any health department inspection?! My dad was so severely dehydrated for months and they lied and said his bloodwork all came back normal. We could tell he was dehydrated but nothing was ever done about it until he got to the point that he needed hospitalization. That's what finally got him. Severely dehydrated and Cdiff --THEY LET HIM LIE THERE FOR A WEEK SICK WITH THIS! We asked for him to be hospitalized but their house doctor said his bloodwork was normal. Surprisingly, two days later, the house doctor admitted him into DMH for being severely dehydrated and bad case of Cdiff. He never made it out of the hospital. His heart had had enough. i do not recommend Moweaqua Rehabilitation & Health Care Center for your loved ones! My dad was there for over a year and we saw so many bad instances of poor healthcare while he was a...
Read moreI would like to say thank you for the opportunity and support of most of the residents.i am older almost 60 so I Understand that the people there must be taken care of in every way.I could never live there because the staff is short most of the time. The CNA are mostly through an agency and does not take the best care of the people. The patients are sitting in soiled bottoms asking for help all day long. Not taking all there medicine because sometimes its left on the lunch and dinner table. The maintenance person is good.Housekeeping do a good job 75 % of the time. The kitchen is ok but needs lots of help. The oven cooks uneven and burns on the outside and have to switch ovens and remove have of the bacon each time. The night cooks each with a chew in his mouth and spits in the garbage con. They donât care about the product they put out and when trying to change things the night it wat set up to have everyone call off. The worst night ever the people had to eat and 2 people only started at 5 in the morning til 10 at night then back at 5 in the morning. That was the breaking point and my last 5 hours.I just hope I pray to god that I donât end up at a place like this. The management donât care. I say check on your love ones on a regular basis.Things are undercooked or burned and some one...
Read moreThis facility is home to approximately 50 residents. While it is a business it is still considered home to its residents. It does not have a full time kitchen crew and have outsourced meals to a local restaurant part time so that residents could be fed. There are many other basic services that they have failed to do until recently thanks to the state making them do what they should have been doing from the beginning. They have been cited for a minimum of 22 violations(tags) by the state in the last 90 days. The latest violation being the most severest of all the violations. It is time that their parent company Tutera makes sure that all the basic needs of each resident is met and that these residents are treated with dignity and respect. The only way that this can be done is by immediately terminating the administrator of this home, Heather Cordes and her administrative staff. It is a shame, when pets at an animal shelter are treated better than human beings. I would not recommend this home to no one until the administrator is removed and some of her staff...
