Bert Driver Nursery — Local services in Carthage

We won't be buying from Bert again. Products are questionable; customer service is inconsistent.

We were willing to pay the higher prices for more established trees, but when two of three die, it's wasted money. The first was several years ago and we didn’t follow up. This year we did. The nursery did replace it with what was in stock, which was almost half the value.

When we bought early in the spring, we learned they might deliver after a friend loaded them for us. We called last month about another purchase and were told they were too busy to deliver. Now, for the replacement, we asked for delivery and they agreed. Since it's now in the upper 80s, we simply inquired about any help planting the replacement. After a laugh, the response was, "Hey! We don't even have to deliver it!"

Beyond that, the website has limited use. There is no product information, no policies, no prices. Even at the nursery, there is no price list for items. Customers have to wander to check out the tags on each plant. We aren't interested in this kind of...

We drove from Brentwood to the nursery a few months back. We purchased two topiary. He told us there is one year warranty on them. He told us what to do and not to do for caring of them. Well, one of them dried and died. We called him. He denies the one year warranty. I guess do not trust and believe what he says. He was not willing to do any bargain. But he was rude and hang up the phone. He charged us over $200 for the two plants. I would not recommend him. We would not do business...
