My favorite local grocery store! It's so convenient for me, and the employees are usually friendly and helpful. The store is always clean and I usually find what I'm looking for on sale or pretty cheap. (I usually only get groceries here. Non-food items like shampoo, toiletries, cleaners etc are a bit more expensive than say Walmart, unless theres a sale or you have a coupon)! The store is well lit & the parking lot is clean. I would recommend this store for quick trips too because they have self-checkout available here. There is a Redbox inside. They have craft beers & lots of different wines as well. The only negative I can think of is that It's set back from the main road & slightly hard to see from the Ten-Ten & Holly Springs rd intersection, and you can't take a left if you are trying to get out from the ten-ten road entrance (near the gas station & auto repair shop); you can only take a right onto...
Read moreI walked into food lion only wanting to buy 1 thing; a pork butt. However, after walking by their trail mix bars that were on sale from $4.80 to $1.80, I walked by their trail mix meat department and an older gentleman was pricing meats and he asked what I was looking for. I told him I was looking for salmon, and he walked to the complete opposite of the store to check for me, but were unfortunately out. I had my hands full of meat at this point and he said “there’s some much better steaks for a better price if you’d like.” I said so would love that and he grabbed them for me and put the others back. They were 3 ribeyes for $13 managers special. He couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful. I’m not sure his name, but he made my day. I spent a total of $59, and my total would have originally been $104. I am no longer going to Harris Teeter. ALL of the meats I purchased were on sale, as well as the...
Read moreCHECK IF YOUR CRAFT BEER IS EXPIRED BEFORE CHECKOUT. The employees put it right back on the shelf after I returned it.
I purchased three different refrigerated beers and all of them were months past their "sell by" date. Upon inspection, the rest of those beers on the shelf were also past their dates.
The manager on duty acted indifferent about the issue, making me feel like I was just an inconvenience. She even had another employee take the beer I returned to be placed back on the shelf. I mentioned to the employee that all of the beer on display was past its date, which he acknowledged. I returned two days later only to see the same beers, still expired.
I don't know if it the responsibility of the store or the beer distributor, but the ball was dropped somewhere. At the very least, expired stock should NEVER be put back on the shelf....
