I really enjoyed my first trip to Castroville's Schattenbol at DeCock Farm today during their Farmer's Market event. Their parking setup in the front, back and to the side of their facilities were accommodating. Handicap and Veteran parking were next to the entrance. I enjoyed interacting with the bartenders and met the owner, Maureen (popular lady). I noticed that their food orders came out quickly when I was sitting at the bar and I enjoyed the extra food/coffee trucks that were available. I, myself, enjoyed the mini tacos 🌮. Their Farmer's Market was what you expected one to be and the atmosphere was very family orientated. Santa and the Grinch were even in attendance to entertain the children. Read moreGreat spot to grab a glass of wine or a beer. Family friendly. There is a outdoor playground for the kiddos and plenty of room for the bigger kids to kick around a ball. There was a food truck located on the property called YaYa's but I recommend ordering from the bar. YaYa's was overpriced for what they offered. $10 for 2 small fish patties on a bun with some pickles and bag of chips. There was a live band you could see for a cover price of $5 if your wanting to be in a more bar type atmosphere. Pretty cool spot to meet up...
