Hometown Market — Local services in Cave City

Pay higher price for convenience of shopping here, as opposed to driving further to find Walmart or Kroger. I am increasingly disappointed with the produce department. Very few plant based alternatives available here. My receipt is never right.... I without fail, get overcharged for at least one item every time. & who has the time to go back & argue over ten cents?? & the manager of the produce department is a jerk. I said, "this should be free or trashed & it's not even reduced", in regard to moldy, rotting grapefruit. I got a smirk & a mumble in return. Edit: the only thing I could add is that this store continuously hires teenagers to run cash registers & while I think it's great that the market offers them employment, I don't get the vibe that they really enjoy working. They are terribly unfriendly & impolite, for the most part. So, my point is this ... If you are going to employ kids, at minimum, you need to teach them some manners & some customer service skills. When I speak at checkout with, "How are you today?", I would like to receive a response in return...

I shouldn't feel like it's a hassle for the clerks to get off their phone to ring my groceries up we are in the south you should be curious and not rude when I say hello and greet you the way you should greet your customers I realize y'all are young and obsessed with your phone but you are at work. Everything here is over priced but in good order. If you need anything more than A few items it's worth it to just go to either Wal mart or Kroger and save some money. I will say there is an older lady usually there in the morning that is sweet as can be smiles with kindness even when you just walk in the store so to you I will say thank you for being so kind I'm not talking about you just the...

Hometown Market is a great local grocery store. Centrally located to Cave City, it carries about every day-to-day item that a person needs around the house. Checkout is fast and easy, it's a pleasant place to shop. For sure.

The reason for four stars: I really wish they'd expand their produce to include fresh herbs and other things similar to Kroger... Also, the store overall smells faintly like a trash can inside, which is weird... I really wish the store didn't have an odor, whatever that's about... ?
