We did the final chapter escape room. The concept and asthetics are there, the puzzles need some work though. A good majority of the puzzles are solved through just hunting through the room. No hints or clues to suggest where these things where, just randomly hidden. Also the end was pretty bad. We had this entire story built up throughout the game and before with a video. Honestly, we didn't even realize we had beaten the room until the game master walked in. It just kind of ends. We also had a lot of broken puzzles. One was already solved for us when we entered. A lock was already unlocked that wasn't supposed to be. We were given two black light flashlights that had trouble staying on. One of the puzzles randomly unlocked itself before we even began solving it. Also there was no timer that we could see and no limit on hints. A lot of our game was spoiled by way too many hints. If everything worked and we had a timer, id give it an extra star. Over all, the room had potential. It wouldn't take much work on the puzzles to make this a 5 star experience. Between the issues we encountered and a few poor design choices, I just cannot recommend this escape room in its current state.
Edit: Well, it has been 1 year since I went here, and the owner finally replied with "Not accurate at all". Was really hoping this review would offer some constructive criticism for them to improve, but its clear they do not wish to. I'm taking off my extra star on this review as it was in hopes for a better...
Read moreEdit: the live music I found for "ravens cross living room" maybe that was a different place but I drove by haunted village and escape games 4 times on Saturday between 4pm and 8PMCST. Across from jellystone Park, right down the road from watermill restaurant. We would have stopped in if it had been clear where to turn in but as I mentioned every entrance around the area of the haunted village (whether for said business or not) had a farm gate or rope tied up across it. I could have called for clarification but being out of tourist season figured it was closed. If nothing else maybe this should be taken as "entrance to attraction not clear" review. Again, not enough lights or clear sign /entrance. No sign of life as we drove past on the road the 4 times we drove by on Saturday. And if this isn't the business in Cave City, KY then Google has you very confused, not me.
Don't really have anything to review, my husband and I wanted to do the tour and escape room and several things on the internet said they were open on Saturday from 2pm-8pm they even had live music scheduled for 6pm but every time we drove by it appeared they were closed. Any entrances for vehicles were gated shut and after the sun went down when the live music was scheduled for, we did not see any lights on, entrances were still gated shut. So 3 stars for a neutral review because I just don't know...
Read moreThe abundance of ignorant political statements plastered all over the "Legendary Collectibles" shop kept us from spending any money here. We would have purchased quite a few neat collectibles and even originally planned to come back a second day for more. The individual working the collectible shop also made multiple comments of how children are not raised correctly in this day and age, all around it gave us a vibe of ignorance and not that of what we were looking for with the Edgar Allen Poe vibe. This is not a place I'd call very welcoming or open minded.
It seems ownership cares more about spewing political statements (regardless of your affiliation), along with talking down about the current generation they are entertaining at their establishment more than immersing you in the Edgar Allan Poe world this attempts to portray online.
This place looked really cool but, in the end, just ended up being a complete let down unless you like politics mixed with your fantasy, toys and kids talked poorly about. Appears to be more of a money grab roadside attraction than anything that have more to say than just about horror and...
