Not recommended for young professionals. I moved to the area for work in Dec of 2019 and luckily have maintained employment through COVID pandemic. The issue is that I am needing to move from the apartments and management is not willing to budge at releasing me from my contract 1 month early unless I pay a $5000 buy out option. even at providing a 60-90 day notice. I have worked as a contract and traveling employee since 2010 and have never encountered a property management who was not willing to work on early termination because of the need to move or change in employment.
If you move to this area for work and are not certain that you can stay for the entirety of the contract or your work is not guaranteed to last the entire duration of your apartment contract DO NOT RENT FROM THIS PLACE they will not work with you and they will insist on completion of contract or a buy out of $5000.
Things to also consider. If you resort this apartment's review section by most recent and read through the reviews of the past year you will see that the majority of reviews this past year are not favorable. The apartment management has been accused several times by other people of not showing the ability to budge when it comes to the needs of the tenants especially during the pandemic.
The area does have many other options for renting and with a little more research you should be able to find other options where renting a house in the area will cost half what Reserves are charging for rent. I moved here and set up the rental at the reserves in a hurry because of my need to move immediately for employment. If I had the time to research I would of been able to find a nicer place or a house to rent for much cheaper. Most likely the other property management would be willing to work with you especially with a 60-90 day notice in being sympathetic of work or life changes. especially during a pandemic.
Other aspects of property- apartments are nice and well maintained. not very well sound or smell insulated. you will be able to hear neighbors talking or moving about. Hallways are always a blend of smells and you can hear everything in every apartment. doors are not insulated at all. Staff (both front office staff and maintenance crew) are friendly and professional. They unfortunately have a corporate line to maintain for employment in a tough time.
NEW EDIT: The apartment complex is always working on projects for beautification of the property. This is not necessarily a good thing. My schedule is not set to first shift all the time so I do sleep some days to work nights. almost every day they are running lawn mowers, weed eaters, lifts for pressure washing the sides of the buildings, cleaning crews in the hallways, roof work, repaving crews, maintenance and construction crews. This is an update because today, Saturday, starting at 9:00 am the apartment complex decided that mowing the lawn, edging and weed eating was a bigger priority than maybe letting the tenets of this place sleep in on Saturday. It is now 2:00 PM and they seem to be done in this area.. so expect hours of constant noise everyday and if you work any shift other than first shift expect interrupted sleep for any number of projects.
The kind of notices you will get. "We are excited to inform you our kitchen renovation will begin later this month. All kitchens in phase 1 will be having backsplashes installed above your counter area. The contractors will start at approximately 8 am and your kitchen will be ready to use the same day. They will complete the renovation with the least amount of interruptions. This renovation is NOT optional, and you will receive notification 48 hours before they will take place which will include further instructions."
What it doesn't say is that if they don't have access I will have heavy fines also I work from home and need to schedule interruptions but that doesn't matter. Starting 8am with or without my permission there is work going to happen in my apartment and place of work regardless of what...
Read moreMy wife and I were very pleased overall during the year we spent at the Reserve at Southpointe. The apartment itself was literally brand new (since this a new complex) which was a nice touch. The size and space of the apartment was nicely laid out, and the appliances and granite counter tops in the Kitchen were really nice.
The landscaping around the property is maintained and kept looking very nice during the warmer seasons and the roads have been plowed and salted swiftly during the winter months (from my experience at least). We really enjoyed not only having access to the community pool, but the location and look of it as well...just a really nice experience. We didn't use the children's playground or the dog "play parks" but I suppose it was nice knowing they were there. My wife and I really enjoyed taking walks around the complex as it is VERY conducive to that...and due to it's size you can really cover some ground while feeling safe the entire time.
Lastly, the staff was always very courteous and helpful from day one. Lately our point of contact has been Dana and she has been fantastic. Whether it be quick email responses, holding packages for us, or maintenance requests, I really don't have any complaints at all. All rent payments were online and very convenient. Another nice (and unexpected) touch was the Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners the staff had for all residents. Both gatherings were actually full blown catered meals where they opened the clubhouse for all residents to sit and eat...it was really nice with no strings attached!
For anyone reading this, I've only written a handful of reviews in my life. However, considering how important I believe apartment complex reviews to be when researching...I felt it was warranted to share our very positive experience. I would highly recommend this complex to anyone who is looking for a positive, safe and high...
Read moreWhile moving from a high end luxury apartment out in Miami, FL. I did not think anything in Canonsburg would match upto that.
BOYYY was I WRONG, Reserve at Southpointe is a step above where I used to live AND the BEST part is the rent is cheaper here.
The apartment and the amenities are very appeasing, they have a modern and welcoming appeal to it. They even have a car care station where you can, clean, vaccuum and get air for your tires IN THE COMMUNITY ITSELF. For the guys that care about daily maintenance of their car this is a big plus.
The staff is so friendly and helpful that it doesn’t even make me miss the warm 75+ degree weather. Since day one all my requested were handled very promptly and issues resolved without conflict (something which is hard to find when you rent)
Jennifer and Amanda are very helpful and excellent at their jobs; they even know my dogs name and have always made me feel like family. While I was sick and lost my wallet; they were nice enough to order me soup to make me feel better
(This extra mile they go for their customers made the move from a place like Miami very well worth it)
I was welcomed into my new clean apartment with a nice note and I have felt like I live at my parents from day ONE.
If you are looking to rent in Canonsburg, and need a nice clean and luxurious community look no further.
The prices are JUST RIGHT for what they have to offer which includes enclosed parking, in community gym, car care station and not ONE but TWO enclosed dog parks.
They also have various community events for the tenants which is shared through a live community page; the Christmas party here was a blast and it was nice meeting the...
