I had been a patient here for almost three years. Things started off great: loved Dr. Cua, her front desk manager was fantastic, good client experience. This past year, the quality of her front desk & support staff fell off a cliff.

They heavily pushed Kor whitening treatment & I purchased the $1K+ treatment. I scheduled my 1st appt, did impressions for trays. Once I picked up & started the 14-consecutive-day cycle, I was only then told on day 3 that I would need to come in within a very specific date range to complete an in-office 2nd round of whitening, of which the appt. lasted 4 hours. The office’s availability for when I could come it to do this treatment was extremely limited. I had to rearrange my work schedule & day to accommodate this huge appointment. After I completed the in-home 14-day treatment, I let them know when I came if for the in-office appt. that I wasn’t happy with the results- my teeth were very blotchy and somehow darker than before. I was reassured the in-office treatment would correct the unevenness and they would be “blindingly white” after- that it could take up to 2-3 weeks to let everything balance out. The tech who applied the gel was very sloppy, and the gel she got all over my gums caused open raw spots in the skin and extreme sensitivity for weeks. After 3 weeks, no improvements were made so when the staff reached out to see how I was doing, I let them know I still wasn’t happy with the results. The text I got back was very snarky and unhelpful - basically that they weren’t responsible if I had unreasonable expectations of wanting my teeth “unnaturally white.” Well, you were happy to take my money when you made inflated claims? Dr. Cua did end up reaching out to Kor and gave me additional at-home gel, but it hasn’t helped.

There were other incidents: -For my regular cleaning, I was sat in the room by the hygienist & they left. 45 minutes of a 60-minute appointment went by with me sitting in the chair & no communication. I eventually got up and went to the front desk, letting them know I would need to reschedule the appointment b/c I had to go to work. They then explained Dr. Cua was running behind, but would be in shortly. Dr. Cua then came in and rushed through my cleaning. I understand delays happen, but that could’ve been easily avoided. -I had a cleaning coming up next week. When I received the auto-confirm text, I asked to reschedule to a later date due to a last-minute work trip. They then told me that the practice now considered my dental insurance provider out of network and my next cleaning would be $206 - and that I already received an email me to tell me this. I regularly receive their emails and even checked my spam to ensure I didn’t miss it-nothing. No apology/offer to book an appt. At the point, it just felt like they were trying to get rid of me.

Every interaction felt like I was being an inconvenience for basic requests. Again, Dr. CUA is nice, but the communication and professionalism of the staff you most frequently have to interact with are abysmal so it ends up being a really...

First let me put this out there. I hadn't been to a dentist in 2 years. I do have a premium dental insurance but just don't like going to one because of all that poking and prodding. For me going to a dentist is like taking your car to a mechanic, avoid it until something is broken because they will find something otherwise during the regular maintenance visits.

I'm very happy to say that Perch and Dr Patel shattered these myths and exceeded all my expectations.

Let me start out by describing their office. It is like one of those 5-star spas. Extremely clean, nice modern touches throughout and professionally decorated. Each "rooms" have multiple TVs, including one on the ceiling so you don't miss a beat on your favorite shows while your teeth are getting the royal treatment from the dentist. Next, the instruments they use are state of the art modern instruments to take the best imagery - a 3D scan, bunch of x-rays from multiple angles using a handheld machine and then a range of color photos. All of these combine to get you the details of your teeth like never before.

The best part is the dentist himself and the staff. Dr Patel was extremely patient and walked me through all the pictures and imagery. He never rushed and answered all my questions. Never have I ever had a dentist who went into the details of my dental hygiene as Dr Patel did. In addition what I admired about this visit is that they never pushed any treatment. We talked about a chip in one of my tooth and a talked through what a treatment plan would look like but they never pushed me to sign up because it was cosmetic and not absolutely necessary.

But what about Covid-19? I was very scared to go to a dentist during these times but it had been 2+ years and I really needed to get my teeth cleaned and also get professional opinion on a couple of issues that had been bothering me lately. Dr Patel and their staff wore 2 layers of masks, protective gear and used single use bags and covers for everything I touched. All equipment was also wiped down meticulously. This put me at ease. Of course, they also require you to wear a mask and only see a limited number of patients at a time so you don't come into contact with other people.

Overall, I just have to say that I had the best experience I ever had at a dentist office, even during these crazy times. I walked away with a nice goody bag of dental stuff. I would highly recommend Perch dentistry to everyone and it is definitely the place to go for both me...
