I'd give it no stars if I could. I've always had a pleasant experience at this center- but not this time. After self-scheduling my mammogram, I arrived and checked in and was required to fill out a form with my info, PCP's name, etc. The questionnaire asked if I was having any problems. I did not circle yes, but did mention on the side that I have a rare-occurring discomfort issue. Instead of maybe, I don't know, telling me right then and there, that since I wrote that I have a very "minute" issue (that really isn't a problem but the paper asked- so, I was being honest) that this now requires the mammogram to be ordered as a diagnostic mammogram ordered by my PCP instead of me self- ordering/scheduling myself. They made me sit there for 20 mins before calling me back just to tell me that. During that time, they could've called the PCP's office and got a diagnostic req over the phone! Well.....I did.... I called as soon as I left the women's center and they put a diagnostic mammogram req in the system for me immediately! NO problems at all! What happened was so ridiculous and a waste of my time! The rad tech was just being lazy and she didn't want to take the time out to call my PCP's office and get the req, while I made it happen and got the requisition in TWO mins on my own!!!! How hard was that???? RIDICULOUS! Now I have to make another appt and go back to have the same mammogram test done anyways, whether it was a self-request or a Dr. ordered diagnostic mammogram. Same test. If there's a problem with it, THEN I'll come back on another day for the sonogram.....which would not have been a problem. I was THERE already, let's just get the basic 3D mammogram done and then go from there. Wasting time and making me come back on another date is a DISSERVICE TO ME! I never want that radiology tech again and the front desk person should know better. She should be instructed to screen the paper that was filled out by the self-scheduling pt, and if the pt. lists any medical complaint, then she should tell the pt. right away that a diagnostic order is needed, instead of making her sit and wait to then be told by the radiology/ mammogram tech once she finally calls the pt back, and then tells her that the mammogram must now be ordered as diagnostic. As a RN, this was ridiculous to me the way they handled it. Not proficient at all. I'm not...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHorrible timely service. I worked in health care for 37 years and never witnessed a patient sitting way way way past their appt time without someone coming to apologize, explain the reason for the delay and the option to reschedule. One place I worked we had a 15 min rule. If a patient sat for more than 15 min they were updated as to why. I sat there for 2 hours for a 10 min max spot mamo and a 2 min talk with a doctor. No apologies given for the delay. Now waiting for the nurse to call to schedule a biopsy. I would of had to sit some more to wait for her and i told them to have her call me to schedule. When that will happen ??? Same thing happen last year. After I get my biopsy I am going to another health system to get my mamo next year. My time is valuable. There was also a uncomfortable looking women in a wheelchair who waited 1 1/2 hours before...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI usually have a good visit here. The ladies are friendly, however, this time I didn't understand why the technician kept bringing up the general screening instead of a diagnostic mammogram. A diagnostic mammogram was ordered by my oncologist, however, my technician thought it was a screening. I explained I had LCIS years ago, and since I had that, I should always be getting a diagnostic mammogram. She double checked and said, ok, it's diagnostic and that I can wait for results. After I waited, she came out and told me everything is fine, she said next time you only need a screening. I'm thinking she's not a doctor, so how can she say that? If a diagnostic was ordered, than that is what I should get, not what she thinks or says I should get.. Even I know the difference between the two tests. I think she needs educated on the difference between the tests, esp when someone...
