I know this is a long review, but I wanted to document my entire experience. I'd like to note, from the time I dropped it off until the day before I picked it up, Luther didn't call me once. TLDR: They took 3 months to fix my vehicle, and it still had issues when they originally said it was done.
In no way would I recommend their Service Dept or to buy a vehicle from them, with the lack of communication and poor management of the Service Dept.
12/20/23 - Dropped vehicle off for a Ford recall, Luther said they may be able to get it done in 2-3 weeks. They said their loner cars were not available, and the only way a rental is available is if parts are on back order (which they weren't) 1/2/24 - I called in, they said 2 more weeks. 1/15/24 - I called in, they said 2 more weeks. 1/20/24 - I called in to see what was going on, they explained that the parts are on order and should be there soon 1/23/24 - I called in again, they told me that only 1 mechanic they have is capable of the type of work it needs, and he had a baby around New Years, there are 3 vehicles ahead of mine, and to call back in 2 weeks. They explained that I could take it somewhere else, but I said its already there and I dont want to drive it in its current condition so I'd just leave it there 2/15/24 - Called in again, they said 2 more weeks 3/5/24 - Called in again, they said later this week 3/8/24 - I called in again, they said that it is in the shop, and the other guy was suppose to call me the day before saying that 3/13/24 - I called in to check on it, they said that a heater hose was bad, so they were having to replace it. 30 mins later, Luther called me, and said my heater hose arrived. Um, what? I told them I'm the customer and he said he had the wrong number. 3/14/24 - Luther called and said the vehicle was done and ready to pick up. I went to pick it up, they explained the mechanic that was about to do my vehicle quit the day before he started mine, and they had to get a new mechanic in. When I went to my vehicle, the trim around the back door was off, with a piece for under the seat laying on top the seat. I went in and told them, and they fixed it. As I was driving down the road, the A/C did not work. Returned to them, they said they would check on it that day and let me know what's happening. They said I could take it home to bring back later or leave it there (why would I take it??). They later called me to say that there was a leak in it. 3/14/24 - I called and asked if they were going to give me a gas card/fill the tank, or any type of compensation for taking 3 months to get to my vehicle, he said he would have to check with his manager, but he was out sick that day. 3/14/24 - They called at the end of the day to let me know there was a leak with an o-ring, they replaced it and recharged the system, and that they would let it sit overnight to see if it leaks again 3/15/24 - Luther called me to tell me the A/C still worked and the vehicle was ready for pick up. I asked if they were going to deliver it to my house since it's been such a hassle, which they agreed to. They also agreed to give me 1 free oil change. Later that day they delivered it to my house 3/30/24 - Vehicle has now developed a rattle when starting. My mechanic said it could be a timing issue or coolant in the block with the oil. We also noticed a bolt loose right in the front of the block. If the mechanic missed that, then what else did he miss? Will be taking it in again.........
Turned out the rattling was a messed up flex plate, they are supposed to examine it when doing the coolant intrusion repair, so I find it hard to believe that within a month that problem...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI will never recommend Luther Ford Lincoln for service work EVER again. Husband had inspection soon so he got all his work done locally by people he trusted and knew did good work. He had been getting work done by them for years with zero problems. He recently had a shop look at his car and they addressed he was good to pass inspection other then his tires. He made appointments got his tires done and aligned with zero issues. His car was driving better after that, which was what we expected. Both shops said he was good to pass inspection. So he scheduled an appointment and took it in. Luther Ford Lincoln failed his inspection for misalignment and apparently he had trailing arms on the back of his car that needed replaced but get this.. they said they are so heavily back ordered they canāt even get them. Then they told us that his high beam light (the more expensive light) had just ādisappearedā and let me tell you, when I checked that rubber cap was intact well, theres no way his light that worked that same morning.. had just fallen out. When I checked the light wasnāt there and the part that holds the light was not locked back into place, so someone tampered with it. He went back to the tire place that did his alignment and told them what was going on. They checked it all out and said his car is in perfect shape that they check everything before alignment. They rechecked it and it was still fine. He had this alignment done 2 weeks before inspection. So thankfully he got his car inspected elsewhere but my husband and I are young and they thought they could get us to replace parts that did not even need replaced. We will not be going back after they took his high beam bulb and told him he needed parts he did not need.. and failed his inspection. They must not of realized he got all his other work done recently and thought they could convince him otherwise. Overall, Iām severely disappointed that they tried to swindle him into paying hundreds of dollars to fix a problem that didnāt exist. We will be getting all our work done elsewhere from now on.
