First off I just want to say I absolutely never leave a review but I figured this may help someone out. If you are looking for a trustworthy dealership this is not it! We went about 3 weeks ago to purchase a Subaru WRX for my son. The salesman Matthew was extremely helpful and very pleasant. We decided on a deal that worked for us. My husband stated that there was a noise while test driving and thought it may have been the brakes, we looked at the brakes and saw that the car needed brakes and rotors we addressed this with Rob, the sales manager and he said that they checked it out and there was nothing wrong with the brakes and rotors, my husband was a bit resistant because he is a mechanic himself and knows his stuff. But we drove the car home despite this. As soon as we got home the check engine light came on. My son, being a diesel mechanic, and husband a mechanic put the code scanner on the car and it said that the 02 sensor was bad. After that we noticed that the exhaust did not look right, my son looked underneath the car and found that the exhaust had been replaced and the exhaust was put on with exhaust glue, not even welded and looked horrible. We called the dealership that day but they were already closed for the weekend. On Monday when the dealership opened we called and left several messages and no one returned our calls so we figured since my son had to finish signing paperwork we would just drive in. When we got there we expressed our concerns with the car. Rob tried to down play what we were saying and said that the 02 sensor must have went when we got home. Again my son knows a lot about cars being in his profession and asked them to put the car up on the rack to see the exhaust nightmare underneath. They agreed and my son showed the mechanic the exhaust work and that the brakes and rotors were bad. The mechanic than told us that the car didn't even have an O2 sensor on it, and he agreed with us about our problems and said that he addressed the issue with Rob but he told him to push it through. Thank goodness for a mechanic that is honest. He said that we need to address this with Rob, so back inside we went. Rob sat there and told us that the exhaust work was not done there and that they would put an o2 sensor on the car and a factory exhaust and I said if the exhaust work was not done here maybe the dealership could recoup some of their money from them since they did not do a good job, Rob said he would try. I also addressed the fact that the car came with only the spare key no fob and my son cannot unlock the car without the alarm going off. Rob said that there was no way they were getting him a key fob because he was "already not making any money on the deal because of the exhaust and o2 sensor, and he was not going to replace the brakes and rotors either". I was not happy. They said they would call me when the parts came in to schedule the appointment. Two weeks go by with us calling and leaving messages with no return call. Finally I got someone to answer and I talked to the service department and they said the o2 sensor was in and I stated that we are to get a new exhaust he was unaware of this but he would talk to Rob. On the day we scheduled to take the car in my son arrived in the morning and asked if he could go in and show them the exhaust issue and they said they would come and get him once the car was on the rack. They never did. After the job was done almost 5 hours later my son looked at the car and found that they did the o2 sensor and put the same exhaust back on the car only welded it. Not what was discussed at all. My son went straight to Rob and questioned what they did and why there was not a new factory exhaust put on. Rob said that he did not remember that being discussed, I was standing there when we discussed it. My son got aggravated and left. The next day my husband called and asked to speak with Rob , the man that answered the phone was so rude and told my husband to hold on then hung up on him. Now we are left with no answers....
Read moreLet me hasten to give my salesman, Kyle, a good rating. He was very decent to work with. I am very disappointed in the dealership, though, as they were trying to sell me a 2022 F-150 that would not pass inspection. How often do you look at the inspection sticker during a test drive? You expect a $35,000 vehicle to have a clean sticker, right? Two and a half hours into the long process of trading in for this truck, the business guy puts a paper in front of me for me to sign to acknowledge that the vehicle cannot pass inspection. I was stunned. He mumbled something about brakes. When I asked about it he became rude and insisted that they would NOT be putting brakes on the vehicle. When he saw that I was going to back out of the deal, the sales manager came by and said they would do the brakes and also a couple of tires that would not pass. The tires had enough tread, but there were some problems with the sidewalls that were very hard to see, but were issues for inspection. I had no idea. I was and am amazed that they would not disclose these things sooner in the process. I can't help but wonder what else they are not telling me. I do not trust them and you shouldn't either. I'm giving Kyle the benefit of the doubt and assuming he was unaware. The big guy in the business office was very unpleasant to deal with. Rob, the sales manager, was very nice to talk to...but he mentioned after the whole inspection debacle that even before the repairs, he was losing $2100 on this deal. That's interesting because they only gave me $2000 on my Ford Expedition that I traded in. Does that mean that even if I had gifted them my vehicle they would still have lost $100? That's ridiculous and it further erodes my faith and trust in Luther Ford. I was over 2 hours from home and had invested a ton of time into the process...I went ahead and got the truck. So far, so good, but I am holding my breath a little bit. BEWARE IF YOU ARE LOOKING TO BUY SOMETHING USED FROM THEM. You may or may not be getting the whole truth.
One other warning...the business guy is going to really, really push the extended warranty...to the point of being insulting. His tone is not good at all. He clearly lied to me. As a math teacher, I had already done my calculating and I knew that my payment should be around $452. When we went back to the office he was happy to share that he secured an extended warranty and my payment was actually going to go down $2 per month because he was able to move the rate from 5.5% to 5.08% and the savings in interest would more than pay for the warranty. He then shared that we would be paying $507 per month instead of $509. Little did he know, I had already figured the payment. When I shared that it should not be anywhere near that he asked my wife and I to step out of the office for a few minutes. When we returned he said our payment would be $452....then he tried to shame me for not getting the warranty. Bad look. Dishonest. Shady.
I was also told the vehicle had never been wrecked. I have since discovered clear evidence that the right rear of the vehicle has had some damage and some sort of body repair. That fits right in with the pattern of dishonesty. The birds would sing more sweetly if we could just be open and tell the truth. There's a reason that used car sales are often stereotyped...Luther...
Read moreI was under a bit of a time constraint to buy a truck, and they had the one I wanted with the options I was looking for, so I drove an hour to check it out and bought it the same day. Buyer beware! If you miss the good old days of shady used car salesmen and dealers, this place is for you. My salesman ensured I had the stereotypical used car buying experience that most people dread. Squeezing every penny possible from the customer, negotiating pricing through him with a nameless figure in the back, selling a truck with components not working after assuring me everything worked, doing the old bait and switch on accessories, upselling service plans at the end, and even touting their lifetime powertrain warranty, only for me to read the fine print and see it doesn't apply. If there is one takeaway from this review, don’t take their first offer on pricing for the Easy Care Total Care vehicle service contract. This contract was first offered to me at $4800 for 3 years. After I declined, they immediately dropped the price to $2000. To repeat, they added an initial 140% to the cost of the service plan, hoping the customer would unknowingly agree to a terrible deal. After reviewing the Easy Care customer experiences, I found that the value of the service and its coverages are questionable at the $2000 price tag. Still, if you don’t get this service, they will use this as an excuse not to stand by the product they sold and refuse to help with defects clearly present at the time of sale. Because I bought a truck there, I asked if they would give any discount on floor mats or a bed liner. My salesman went in the back to ask his manager what he could do, and he returned with pricing he represented as their cost. A quick Google search showed that the OEM bedliner price they gave was 15% ABOVE RETAIL when picked up at a Ford dealer. I asked if the floor mats would be Weather Tech, for which the pricing was 10% below retail, and the salesperson assured me they were, so I agreed. When I picked up the truck after hours, the floor mats were duplicate OEM mats as the original ones, and the price paid at sale was then again 15% above retail. When I asked if everything in the truck worked, he assured me it did and touted their 109-point inspection. I got the truck back and tested the 110v outlets in the truck, and they don’t work. I did a couple of hours of troubleshooting before calling John. I should have brought a desk lamp to test the outlets rather than take their word the truck was in working order because the thing wrong with my truck was not in their 109-point inspection. He then touted the easy-care package as something I should have previously bought to cover the defects present in the truck when they sold it to me. He said he would talk with his manager and get back to me a week ago. I have a strong feeling this is how they would handle most problems. After this, I would also be skeptical of their lifetime...
