Amp Electrical Services — Local services in Centerton

I contacted AMP online to get an estimate for a transfer switch installation for my portable generator (this was in October 2015), and after trading a couple of phone calls, we set up a date and time to meet. I left work early to be home to meet the electrician, and he was late. Not that big a deal, life happens. I'd done some research on what the hardware and installation should cost, so I had a general idea of the ballpark he should be in with his estimate.

The electrician seemed very knowledgable as to what he was talking about, and we discussed different options and his past experiences as to what could be run off different sizes of portable generators. So I was a bit surprised when I asked about the hardware cost, and the response was "whatever Home Depot is selling them for." After that, he told me he'd check on the price of the hardware and give me a call back on total installation cost.

Two months later, and I've still not heard back from AMP.

With that said, I've found an installer that gave me a fair price on the installation and actually encouraged me to look at pricing for a couple of different transfer swtiches and panels, and told me to buy it wherever I could get the best price. I'll post a review of his service/installation once completed.

Perhaps AMP just didn't want to do the installation, though I'm not sure why - it was a pretty simple installation (panel is in the garage, could hook up right by it and be done. Whether that was the case or not, it's pretty bad service to never follow up, and I'm not desperate enough to chase anyone to let me do...

Everyone from AMP electric was excellent from start to finish. Angie in the office was prompt and helpful setting up a day for Isaac to come out and give us a quote on our Tesla EVSE installation. She even followed up with me the day before the appointment and let me know he was going to be a couple hours later than scheduled. I appreciated that rather than expecting him at one time and wonder if they blew me off. Our install was the next morning with Josh and Cade. Both arrived on time even a few minutes early. Job was done in timely fashion and very friendly courteous gentlemen. Had to coordinate a last minute wiring type change and everyone involved handled it like a champ with no problems. AMP electric definitely deserves all the accolades they've won for being recognized as the best...

We had work done for our kitchen remodel (moving outlets/switches, adding sconce boxes and moving canned lights).. when you work so hard to plan and prepare for every detail, it’s definitely frustrating when that’s not carried over into the work done by the professionals you choose. Maybe not every home owners cares about the small things, but the pictures definitely shows how attentive they were to the little things. We also now have an outlet that doesn’t work, which was not an issue prior to having them out. We spent nearly a grand to have this work done feels frustrating when we will have to fix some things before we can really enjoy our space. We Will probably try to search for another local option if anything comes up...
