Dollar General — Local services in Centerville

I walked 1.2 mi to the store, once again, and for the 6th time, they did not have what their website presence said they had. Also for the 6th time, before leaving on the walk, I attempted to call the store to verify that the product I was looking for was in stock, and for the sixth time nobody answered. So while I was standing 5 feet from an associate inside the store, I called the store, I heard the phone ringing, and the associate never broke from stocking. I do not fault this associate, as she is more likely than not doing what she was instructed to do, including not answering the phone. I do however fault whoever else was there that didn't bother to come out and see if she needed help or answer the phone. If there was in fact no other associate in the building, I 100% fault management for two things... The security risk of having just one associate present in the building, and if she was instructed to not...

Most things I go there for are always out of stock. Poor management. Always a mess. New store but old habits. Prices are higher then Walmart most of the time. Becoming more like a convenience store then a savings store. They still have those big freight trolleys in the aisles blocking product. Bigger store but old habits of leaving it sit out in the way of merchandise. I thought that was going to change with the extra space. I guessed wrong. They need to get better management. I live about a mile and a half away and don't even shop there anymore.I would rather drive...

ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS make sure they are charging you the right prices on stuff, especially sale items. I avoid D.G. at all costs. On the rare occasions when I absolutely cannot go all the way into town to Walmart or Dollar Tree, and instead go to D.G., every single time especially at the Centerville location; every time (literally every single time) when I get rung up prices are wrong.
