I was really looking forward to spending our Sunday morning at the flea market. I even did my due diligence and made sure that they allowed service animals on their premises. Which I was told that they did, and upon arrival I was visibly able to confirm this. I have psychiatric service dog. Also I was happy to see she would be allowed. Especially since we drove a long way from our home to the flea market. But immediately upon entry everything started to go downhill. The parking attendant immediately upon taking our 5 dollars she looked at my dog and said there’s no dogs allowed. You’ll have to leave, at which point I stated oh no she’s a service dog, and she stated no she’s not. No dogs allowed. I said no she’s a psychiatric service dog, and she asked for her service dog documentation, at this point I knew this wasn’t going to go well. So I told her ma’am there isn’t a service dog registration or documentation. At which point she just mumbled and we took it as her being ok with that and we continued to park. But within a couple of minutes of parking the first staff member came over and asked for our dogs identification, when I explained that the ADA doesn’t have a registration for service animals he admitted that he had no idea what the laws and regulations were for service animals he was just doing as he was told. After about five minutes of talking to him, about four, what seemed armed security officers, came over and demanded that if my dog was a service dog I provide them her service dog identification paperwork. I explained to them once again that there isn’t a registry for that. And that per ADA guidelines they can’t request documentation only what my dogs purpose is, which is a psychiatric dog. I explained that companies that issue “identification “ are scams and not regulated by the ADA. One of the guards mentioned that they now require the identification because in the past people have pretended that they have service dogs and those have bitten other customers. I stated that although that’s horrible and I’m sorry those experiences happened, that they needed to understand that there is no regulated ADA service dog registration. At that point they began making up lies that we had been hostile and that we aggravated the flea market staff so that now we needed to leave and we’re no longer welcome at that property. And that if we stayed we would be trespassing. When that happened more of the third party security guards came and surrounded my family. I began to panic because we were being treated like straight criminals for absolutely no reason. The guard began yelling and telling us we needed to leave NOW. I got my son and family in Our vehicle and it was to the point that we were escorted out of the parking lot and onto the road by the third party security. I have never been treated so horribly by any business. Especially when it comes to my service dog. They have multiple signs stating they allow service dogs but that is the farthest from the truth. All of this ended with me having a huge panic attack because of how we were treated by the security guards and how they lied about us being hostile...
Read moreVENDORS BE AWARE:
This flea market does not know how to show respect and humanity to their vendors. If something in the shop goes bad they come and talk to you so rudely and make you pay for something that they need to fix themselves because it’s their property. So many vendors spent a ton of money to make their shops signs to grab customer attention but none of the vendors are allowed to take it out. On top of all of that they make the vendors pay $15 for the parking while the customers pay $5. In the first place it should be free for people that work there but $5 is okay to pay but $15 while there is no work is ridiculous. On top of all that they have a free parking and let me tell you if you want to ruin your car and ready to buy another car take it to this flea market free parking lot. There are very very enormous and plenty pot holes and mud that will welcome you. They don’t even bother to fix that free parking just a tiny bit because they want everyone to come to their other parking lot. On top of all of these Vendors shop will be rented out if you don’t be there around 8. It’s good to start your business early but in case if you have an emergency and you are late say your goodbye because they will give your shop to someone else without any hesitation. Keep in mind Vendors pay more than $650 a month. Mark my words this flea market is going to lose a lot of business in...
Read moreRecommendations before going. Alot of Spanish speaking vendors. Come with an open mind and they are not bad people like some reviews say they are. Just say how much and they will tell you in a hard accent. If you didn't understand just repeat it. If you go to a food truck, doesn't matter our food names are universal. Taco is taco soda is soda. And if they want to know what kind of meat just say asada(we don't need to be over complicated 😂)
Parking: depending on the time it may or may not be extremely congested. Come around 10am you should be able to get parking for 5$( a Starbucks coffee is 5$). Free parking is also available but haven't been there.
Also recommend on taking a small cart to put items that you buy. Last thing you want is to have your hands full in 95° weather and not being able to buy a nice ice cold cucumber and lime juice...it's 100% freshly made and delicious. Trust me.
Extras: gets packed after 10am so just get prepared to feel alittle crowded. Also don't stop in the middle isle of the walkway.....go to the side.. I'll recommend getting a gordita if you haven't tried it before. They are good and tasty. Security here is friendly and vigilant. Props to them too. Ice cream man is also wondering in there as well. Shout out to the paletero. Also small businesses are in there as well...
