Boy was it hot and oh so humid the day we went on this cruise (it was 100 F for three consecutive days in New Orleans)! The AC inside the boat definitely helped. Despite the heat and sweat, S/O and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Learned a lot of historical accounts that happened along the Mississippi River, what went down during the Louisiana Purchase, and the story on how Andrew Jackson joined forces with the pirate, Jean Lafitte - all of which was shared expertly by Dr. Lauren Tarantino.
The cruise included a stop on the east bank of the Mississippi - the Chalmette Battlefield - where more of the Battle of New Orleans is discussed by one of the many amazing park rangers.
