Boy was it hot and oh so humid the day we went on this cruise (it was 100 F for three consecutive days in New Orleans)! The AC inside the boat definitely helped. Despite the heat and sweat, S/O and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Learned a lot of historical accounts that happened along the Mississippi River, what went down during the Louisiana Purchase, and the story on how Andrew Jackson joined forces with the pirate, Jean Lafitte - all of which was shared expertly by Dr. Lauren Tarantino.

The cruise included a stop on the east bank of the Mississippi - the Chalmette Battlefield - where more of the Battle of New Orleans is discussed by one of the many amazing park rangers.

Don't miss this opportunity to learn more about the history that shaped New Orleans. Sure, we can read about it in books or watch the History Channel, but being physically in the area makes such a...

We visited the Creole Queen on the Friday afternoon before Thanksgiving. My sister was married on the boat that Friday. We had to wait over 35 minutes before they allowed us on the boat. Once the ceremony began we were led down to the private party room. It's a nice boat with great workers. Once the family was downstairs the public was allowed on the top level. It was a...

My rating is only on the dock and not the boat or the cruise as they have their own places to be rated. The dock is certainly adequate but nothing super special. Once docked it’s a fairly short walk on the levy and then a set of stairs. This puts you in front of the Malus-Beauregard house and a short walk from the...

Fun trip. My only complaint was the line at the bar. No drinks come with lunch. If you want a Diet Coke, you have to wait in a very long line a buy one. The historical tour guide on the boat was very loud and only spoke of military history. It a good trip to do once.
