Less than disappointing. Due to your down-home, family friendly radio commercials and being a local business, we visited Chapin Furniture Store today to begin our search to buy a new mattress. We entered the store and received no greeting or acknowledgment of our presence. We made our way around the matress area twice before approached by a sales lady. She was very knowledgeable and provided helpful information. There was no pressure to buy, she answered my questions and was patient with me taking the time I needed to make my selection. We discussed the price and she mentioned they offered a $200 store credit with purchase that we would have 30days to use. She never introduced herself and I still do not know her name, even after our $5000 purchase was completed. I asked about a mattress cover and she explained the differences. I decided to buy one from your store and use part of the $200. She was writing up the transaction on a separate sheet from the mattress purchase, when a gentleman who appeared to be a manager (?) told her it had to be on the same sheet as the mattress purchase. She proceeded to do that and ask Mr Manager how to handle the balance of the store credit, as the cover was only $89. He told her the full amount had to be used and TODAY. She mentioned the 30 days and he said that it needed to be used at the time of the purchase or I need to set up a time to come back in as soon as I could . I said just forget it, I don't need the store credit.. She finished the transaction with the mattress cover, leaving a store credit balance of $111. I know me - and I will come back and most likely spend more than $111. BUT, that will be my very last time in your store. I do not regret my purchase and know we will be very satisfied with our choice. We chose Chapin Furniture not only for their quality of furniture, but for the quality and customer experience we felt from the first day we went in and looked around at their huge selection of bedroom furniture.We were not chased around the store and asked how we were doing every five minutes. Rather, it was a more professional and intentional approach that Al took with us. He was very consultative and was far from âpushyâ.
After purchasing the furniture, we did have a snafoo after getting a headboard home/out of the box and realizing a huge chunk was missing. We had gingerly and oh-so-carefully maneuvered the furniture and hadnât so much as bumped it on the ground so we knew this was not something that we had done. Upon this discovery, we called Al and explained the situation. Al took care of us and graciously ordered us a new one with no additional charge or hassle. (It means the world when a company will take your word and actually believes a customer!)
In conclusion, we LOVE our bedroom suite and will absolutely return the next time we are looking for furniture. I highly recommend...
   Read moreThey have beautiful furniture and reasonable prices. But twice we have had a struggled with the sales staff. The first time we were looking through leather samples with our salesman and a saleswoman was frantic to use the same sample book we were flipping through, to the point that she rushes overs explained she âreallyâ needed that book and took it to satisfy her customerâs needs while we were left with our jaws dropped. And to top things off we decide on a leather and begin putting the order together only to find out oops we canât use that leather. The second time we worked with the same salesman (guess what when we arrived he tells us remember that leather you wanted that we told you that you couldnât have, weâll you can! Too bad we already decided on chairs that wouldnât coordinate...) finally deciding on a sectional and fabric, taking fabric samples home to make the final decision. Returning to the store what we had picked out and told the dimensions were within our range was actually 15â too long. 4 visits, 1.5 hour drive each time. No sofa but a cool swivel stool and the staff tonight was nice and apologetic. Nice store but wonât be making that...
