TLDR: Infinity Flux is a great store, and you should shop there.
Chattanooga has 3 main game stores (4, if you count Cleveland) and they are all good, but for me it is easy to pick a favorite: Infinity Flux in Hixson. Why do I prefer Infinity Flux? Infinity Flux has great staff, great selection, great community engagement, plus it is immaculately clean, and family friendly. Let me start out with the staff. Every one of the employees at the store are delightful people. They know their stuff and are easy to talk to. I am a huge introvert, but I always feel welcomed and am comfortable talking with them about more than just âhere take my money.â As for selection, Infinity Flux has something for everyone in the ânerdâ community. Half of the store is a large comic/manga room featuring both new and old items. They also carry books varying from D&D cookbooks to childrenâs Little Golden Books. I am not really into comics, but if I was, I think I would be pleased with the selection. I know that if I ever wanted to start, there would be some great folks there to help me on that journey. They also have a large selection of used and new action figures. They have a wall of board games with a broad selection. My favorite section is the RPG section. They have the standard D&D books that you can find in other stores, but they also have what I think is the best selection of other RPG books in the whole area. It is nice to see stuff other than just D&D on the shelves. They also frequently purchase vendor level pledges of various RPG Kickstarters and sell those hard-to-get items as well. No RPG section would be complete without miniatures, and they have a good selection of miniatures and paints. They also have the standard TCG cards like Magic and PokĂŠmon. They sell vintage video games as well. Lastly, they have a lot of cool little accessories scattered neatly around the store such as stuffed animals, dice, buttons, magnets, etc. Also, if there is anything they donât have, you can have them order it for you and it will arrive quickly. Infinity Flux has great community engagement. They are the only local store that participates in both Free RPG Day and DCC Day. Given how coveted those items are, we are very fortunate to have a local store to support our roleplaying hobbies. They also do Free Comic Book Day. During the height of the pandemic back in 2020, Infinity Flux was giving away FREE kids comics to kids, even with their store being closed for regular business. Recently, our local art museum did a panel on comic books, and they were present there for that event. Did I mention that the store is clean? The lighting is bright without being blinding. You donât feel like you are in some dingy cave. The merchandise is in good condition and well stacked. The bathroom was sparkling clean, probably cleaner than my home bathroom. Moving onto the idea of family friendliness. Infinity Flux is the most family friendly hobby store I have been to. As I mentioned above, their COVID kidâs response was amazing, and of course so are the clean restrooms. Infinity Flux is the first hobby store I have felt comfortable taking my wife into without her feeling uncomfortable. There is a good mix of male/female staff and as I mentioned above they are very friendly. Their comics side has kid comics and books right up front with a little couch for kids. There are adult comics, but they are up out of reach of children, so you donât have to worry about them getting into things they shouldnât see. Like I said, I am not really into comics, but we happened to come in on Free Comic Book Day last year, and one of the owners very kindly helped us find some comics that my boys loved and read until they fell apart. When Christmas rolled around, my wife felt comfortable shopping there alone with my mother-in-law to get some...
Read moreSo I have never been into comics or graphic novels (or know the difference for that matter). It was free comic book day so I decided why not get some to see what might spark my interest. Got there when they opened at 10 am, 2 hours earlier than normal I believe, and it was absolutely packed. I parked across the street with many others because their lot as well as the adjacent lots were full! It was great to see such interest and support of a local business. You could tell by the wide eyed confused stares who were the newbies such as myself. The regulars were obvious too, they greeted one another and were greeted by name by staff members. They also had specific items in mind as a person on a mission. I was impressed that even though they were absolutely slammed the staff were super attentive to people's needs and patient with the uninitiated who were probably gumming up the works for the regulars. For this day they were giving away 3 free comic books from a specific list of 24 they handed out that you got to choose from. If you arrived in the first hour they doubled that to 6 free! They had a sidewalk sale that had bins of comic books for 50¢ each or you could get a box and fill it for $30. People were shoulder to shoulder in these bins and very polite, this was nice since we were clearly well into each other's personal space. I am excited to go back on a slower day so that I can ask more questions and fill in some of the comic books in the partial sets I just finished buying a box full of. Great store and I would definitely recommend visiting. I was apprehensive but was definitely put at ease and welcomed as if I was a regular customer and offered help a few times (and actually knew what I...
Read moreThis was my first time visiting Influx Comics. As soon as I entered the door I was greeted & everyone was so friendly & ready to be of any assistance to me. I had originally came just to see if my comic books were worth anything & Jason was so extremely helpful, professional & so knowledgeable about all of them that it literally only took him only a few minutes to give me the results! Absolutely blew my mind! I had no idea that they purchased comics, but that day I came to find out that they also purchase video games & systems, action figures, records, collectibles, DVDâs VHS, & Blu-Rays! So if youâre wondering where to take any of these items that you may have in your possession to either just see if their worth anything, or if youâre needing extra cash I implore you to visit Influx Comics first before you go anywhere else. If you feel like you need a second opinion on what your item or items are worth, go for it but you will definitely be returning right back to Influx Comics. Some of the words that I would like to highlight that are on the back of Jasonâs business card says âTrusted, Professional, and Pay The Most. From my recent experience I know all those words are very true, & I am a very happy, grateful customer! I will definitely be coming back! Thank you for the Awesome...
