Cherbu Makeup Artistry & Hair Styling

This review is way overdue, but life happens. I had the pleasure of meeting Cheryl back in 2016 and honestly, I feel like I've known her forever! She is truly such a sweet, genuine person AND crazy talented artist. She got into makeup because she's an unreal painter and it just translated into her ability to make beautiful people even more beautiful. She makes you feel so comfortable and gets a feel of your personality and she somehow just "gets" you. It's like finding your makeup and hair soulmate. I can't even go to anyone else because I know that part of me will be disappointed because I know it could have been Perfect...and perfectly me...you know? I will get my hair and makeup done whenever Cheryl will make time for me because I know that it'll all last. I could get my hair and makeup done at 6am and take photos at 4pm and everything stays perfect. And her secret...HER ridiculous cosmetic line! I worked at Sephora and tried almost everything at one point and I always go back to her foundation, concealer, lip vinyl, HD powder, setting powder, highlighter...everything. Seriously, you cannot go wrong. And now she has a setting spray that is BETTER than UD All nighter. I know because I took photos in a green house and felt like I was sweating bullets and my husband said I wasnt even glistening. And...I know this is super gross and I DO NOT endorse this behavior, but I have a toddler and an infant and I was tired, I passed out with all my makeup on and I woke up (8 hours later - +12 hours from the day before) like I was ready for another photoshoot. My biggest regret would be washing my face because I know I can't get it to the perfect she created, myself. Though, she has makeup classes which I always contemplate taking - though I'd end up going back to her anyways because I'd miss her

Ever since I met her, I have referred her to anyone I love. Haha. She did my sister's wedding and all her dance shows and my sister always looks like her best self. If you love yourself, you will let her work her Cheryl Magic on you! You will never be disappointed! *and if you're lucky, you'll get to meet her daughter Kaylee who is the cutest lil...

Cheryl & her makeup team were my first and only choice when it came to booking hair and makeup for my wedding. I had been in contact with them for the 2 years of planning. Ipo handled every single e-mail and question I asked and she was amazing.

I was able to schedule a hair & makeup trial the day before my wedding & I’m so glad I did because I was initially going to go into HMU the day of my wedding blind and not knowing what I wanted.

During my HMU trial, Cheryl made me feel so comfortable and relaxed. She has such a vivid and fun personality! The way we talked made me feel like I had known her for years already or she was like my “ate” (“big sister” in Tagalog)! I also normally freak out when anyone comes at my eyes with anything and for some reason, I didn’t freak out at all. ESPECIALLY when it came to applying the lashes. She was SO quick with it I didn’t even have time to freak out.

The day of my wedding, Cheryl, Ipo, & Crystal came on time and got all of us (7 in total) done in a systematic fashion. They were all so funny and that helped me calm my nerves. I was SO happy with my hair & makeup. My makeup felt so light and stayed on through all the crying and sweating I did and she even provided me with a touchup kit! My hair did frizz up, but that’s just my hair and even the strongest spray couldn’t stop my hair from frizzing LOL. But everyone looked perfect. No one’s makeup was too heavy or too light.

Also, they were able to send another MUA to another hotel where I had 3 other family members requiring HMU.

Cheryl & her team listen to you and don’t try to force more makeup on you if you don’t want it. They provide their opinions and you can basically tell them yes/no!

They are all so amazing and I would 100% recommend Cheryl & her team for anyone needing...

When inquiring about services and costs, Ipo was always quick to respond. She is excellent communicating through email and usually responds within 1 day, 2 at the latest.

Cherbu's pricing is similar to other experienced artists in the industry and is one of the few that actually offers tattoo coverup services. As the lead stylist, Cheryl does charge a slightly higher fee when requesting her over the other MUAs, and does charge additional fees based on early morning arrival.

Cherbu does it all! In addition to hiring Cheryl for bridal hair, makeup and tattoo cover, I was also able to book a spray tan. Her bronze color can match any skin tone shade and blends perfectly due to her spraying technique. She does warn you it will be a little dark and gives you specific instructions for the first 48 hours, including "wash until you are happy with the color". My farmer's tan was long gone!

Cheryl arrived at my hotel at 4:30 the morning of my wedding and went straight to work. I showed her some inspo photos of hair and makeup and warned her my hair has a hard time curling. She had no problems at all and completed everything by 7:30.

Cheryl is meticulous about her work and is a true artist! Her makeup and application are perfect. She is good at enhancing your natural features which still allow you to look like yourself! She's fun, friendly and personable, making our 3 hours extremely comfortable. Time just flew by!
