I visited the cider mill over the weekend for the first time. I found out about this treasure by visiting the town of Chester's website. I went back in time. It is located off the beaten path on an old back road. You pull up to the dirt driveway and there is a picturesque old red barn with the cider mill attached. Several people were also visiting so I parked on their lawn right in front of the mill. I watched cider being made from the barn door. Smelled so delicious! Gotta watch for the bees! They don't really bother you! Around the corner you could purchase hot dogs with apple cider in the kraut, very tasty! Washed it down with a fresh cup of cider. As I walked towards the barn it smelled of baked goods. I walked in and the table had several different types of fruit pies, a small display had many other baked goods, so many to pick from. There were knick knacks, dips, soup mixes, cheeses etc., etc. The people who where working that day treated me like they had known me for years, truly love what they do! I of course went home with a bag...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe went to Hacklebarney Cider Mills after a hike, and the place was buzzing, there were chickens and really cute golden retrievers that welcomed us to the farm. It was a gloomy cold-ish fall afternoon so we were looking forward to the refreshments.
Our friends recommended apple cider donuts from the place, so we got that. They were very delicious, fresh and not overly sweet, which we really appreciated. I asked for my coffee options, and the lady at the coffee station recommended apple cider coffee, I was hesitant but I surprisingly enjoyed it. It was perfectly hot and perfectly sweet, was unique and scrumptious.
The farm itself was pretty, place was really cute, and surroundings were serene. We binged on a picnic table outside the mill, and really enjoyed the colorful fall surroundings.
Overall we had a fantastic time and really enjoyed our visit. I would highly recommend this place to folks...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGorgeous farm! Came for the apple cider donut and it did not disappoint! It was very busy, long lines on a Sunday morning. As soon as we entered, the parking lot was full but there is another lot down the road with plenty of space.
The market was small and had a long line despite that moved quickly. Market had plenty of baked goods and warm donuts. There were different variations of apple cider donut from maple glazed to cinnamon powder. There is a hot dog stand and small ice cream stand in which we got the famous āTikTokā drink, the Apple cider float. It was good but too sweet for my liking. The vanilla ice cream sundae tasted better.
Animal friendly and two golden retrievers in property. We didnāt try the pumpkin patch or corn maze. Next time ! Come early or on a weekday where itās less busy. Overall very...
