Reids' Harvest House — Local services in Chester

I'm not sure where to start. It's been a number of years since I've been here previously and I imagine this will be the last. I took the family here for dinner based on the hours and pricing on the website. We got there about 7pm thinking they were open until 8:30pm but they close at 8pm on Saturdays apparently. Half of the hot food available was inedible because of how long it had been sitting under the heat lamps. I believe this food was probably sitting since lunch. I watched an employee walk by the buffet to check the food and I guess it was up to there standards. There were 3-4 employees sitting off to the side watching TV. I understand it was later in the evening but that food was unsafe. Half of my Family are currently in the restroom with stomach issues. To top it off I went to pay and was suprised to find out it was $18 per person plus drinks. I was then informed the website pricing and the pricing inside of the restaurant were outdated. Extremely dissatisfied and disappointed in the seafood buffet tonight, sorry to say. We have been going to Reid's for years and never had complaints but the last few times have been terrible and tonight was the worst! We got there about 4:30 and had to wait because supposedly they were still getting the seafood buffet ready so we thought everything would be clean and fresh when we were finally told to go. First the salad bar was a mess, hardly any lettuce in the bin and it wasn't fresh, salad dressings dribbled all over, the salad dressing spoon was sticky, they had no crab meat chunks and said they ran out, the onion rings were so over fried and tough like they had been there all day, all the fried food looked dry and burnt, no fried chicken and even the deserts looked dried up like they had been out all day but yet they keep going up in price but the quality keeps going down. We used to love going there but it's not like it used to be and that's sad. Can't say we will be going back anytime soon unless we start hearing that it has...

I have been there 4 times as of today. This was the first time I had grumbles. Most of the meat was too dry to eat The chicken and dumplings were like eating paste consistency. I did not even get a piece of chicken like I usually do. It looked dry. The cheese for the broccoli and cheese was tasteless. When I used the restroom. There was a puddle of water coming from under the wall in between 2 stalls. I washed my hands and went to use the motion sensors paper towel dispenser I was waving my hands all around it It never worked! With covid-19 I expect to have the proper equipment to work! My partner asked to speak to a manager. We were informed there was not a manager on sight The hostess told us she was in charge. She gave us a 10 percent discount off our bill. When my partner went to pay the bill and explained how much it takes for me to grumble they gave us another 25% off on a future return trip within a month.
