be careful when making a major hair length change at this place; long post
I spent over $300 on this hair cut and coloring at Bobbie G's.(brown hair was before) I had messaged the establishment before I went to tell them another hair place had ruined my hair 4 years ago and I knew the stylist was a level one and maybe someone else could watch them / do my hair. They assured me that this stylist could do my hair.
I had box dyed hair on 5 inches of my hair that we determined had to be cut off in order to bleach my hair healthy (I'm fine with)
My stylist cut those 5 inches off before we started, in a rough-draft kind of way.
Once we finished, I loved my color (I knew that going bleach blonde would take multiple sessions over months, the coloring wasn't the issue) and my stylist went back to cutting my hair. She had said a half inch would need to be cut off to even it off, I watched as an inch and half fell to the floor.
I started to get pale in my chair as she kept chopping on one side and I knew at this moment I should of said something.
She curled my hair and let me go. I went home and after a day, showered and straightened my hair with an iron.
One side of my head was an inch longer, and another side had so many choppy layers that they started curling outwards from my head. ( I had been cutting my hair for the past 4 years so I evened it out the best I could, without seeing the back of my head). I was too scared for someone else to cut my hair and was just going to let it grow out.
I contacted the establishment to let the manager know of the haircut. She was amazingly kind and told me to text her at a number. We spoke and she confirmed she would issue hair cutting classes for her team and even comp me on a hair color bowl the next time I came in.
What I did not know is that text chain could been seen by every stylist as when I messaged who I thought was the owner the next day to ask if she could sit in to watch the coloring process for my next appointment (due to the bad experience from previous) my hair stylist responded back to the messages.
She had said "Hey Megan! This is Anna, Nicole is not in today but I'll let her know that you reached out! I do want to say how sorry I am that your haircut wasn't what you expected!"
I loved my stylist for caring about my hair health, wanting to color it the best without damaging or hurting it, and the care she took.
I did not love that my stylist didn't acknowledge the photos of the haircut she did(that I sent) and own up that it was a bad hair cut. Who would 'expect' their hair to look like this? Symmetrical layering, softer layers and being consistent on the whole head would be of what I'd expected.
The owner, Nicole, is amazing and empathetic and I don't think she can control the creative talent on her artists. She refunded me for my haircut and offered to help 'correct' it, as well. Unfortunately I'm too scared to go back and I'll be going to DYE salon in Ferndale for color corrections...
Read moreLadies/ Hairstyles attention !!!! I was contemplatingďżź on whether or not I should address this, but I feel as though itâs a bit embarrassing for me as well salon that left me with my hair like this afterwards. I had went into Bobby Gâs hair studio in new Baltimore ďżźwith intentions of lightning my ends going lighter in fact a balayage I was looking for.
The first picture is my hair before, the second is a few days after.. the fourth picture is the ideal hair that I wanted to work with I had called the salon and addressed my concerns in which I felt my hair wasnât at all what I wanted , and I was told that they were able to fix it for me, but they were gonna have to charge me another hundred dollars which to begin with I had already spent 200 on which in fact, I feel as though it was not a balayage, and it was just lightly lifted with a few highlights
now correct me if Iâm wrong if another woman who works in the salon industry feels as though this is right, I would love to know I havenât been in a salon in over a year and a half. Iâm a mom I just simply donât have time for it and when coming into that salon, I was looking for a change and I left with so much feelings that I felt it just wasnât right. The owner said she couldnât do nothing about it, and I feel as if she shouldâve took an accountability for her hairstylist actions and fixed my hair for me.
I just wanna make this situation aware that if you ever feel like youâre in need of a mommy makeover or just wanna feel good about yourself donât come to this salon because your intentions you walk in with are certainly not what youâre gonna be...
Read moreI waited 3 weeks to write this review. An hopes that my stylist or the owner would reach out to me to make this right. I came in with Virgin hair, looking for a dramatic look, I got the opposite. Anna and I spent 5 minutes talking about my money piece also. Then she tells me she decided not to do it. I was so confused by that statement. She even left shampoo in my hair and product... She left bleach on my hair for an hour and 30 minutes. Because she kept stopping and walking away. Also I can tell her phone was distracting her. Unfortunately. My hair turned out horrible, huge bleed marks from the foils. Etc. I was very honest with her. I was not happy, this is not what I asked for. And I still can't believe how much...
