They claim to be pro active regarding the VIRUS and social distancing, but they are not. They cram the drivers in a small room to check in. The other drivers must stand for ever outside in the weather. It's a quarter mile walk to check in. Quarter mile back to your truck. Once docked another quarter mile to the office to stand in line again. It's a joke. While standing in a small room waiting to check in lumper personnel and UNFI personnel entering and exiting walking right by breathing all over everybody. The sign says "We practice social distancing" but the sign is a lie. They have a tent outside with a person pretending to take temperatures of incoming drivers, but once again it's just a show. The thermometer doesn't work and the guy is just going through the motions. It's all an act. Every other grocery warehouse in the country has figured it out. Keep the drivers out of the building. Check in by phone or some other way. Email the bills. Pay the lumper electronically. Place the bills in the back of the trailer. There are a million ways to do it and be responsible. Everyone else can figure it out, but not UNFI Chesterfield. It's dangerous, careless and lazy. I wonder if the Governor would be interested in knowing about a grocery warehouse who doesn't safely handle the virus or if their customers are aware for that matter. I bet all it would take is a few phone calls to the right people to report these issues. UNFI should be held responsible just like...
Read moreI have to say since I took over the lead position as security I have done my best to make sure every driver is given the respect that they deserve. I arrive Sunday thru Friday at 10 pm and get cracking to make sure everybody is where they need to be. If need be, I personally escort drivers to the receiving office if they have medical conditions that prevent them from being able to walk the distance to the office and on occasion if I am able to I will drive them back to their trucks. The one issue that I have is that the sign for deliveries on stow road is hard to see and often not seen. Drivers, please stop at the security officer before the intersection of stow and Coachman to be checked in. More often than not we will be able to give you a door from right there. Update for our valued drivers: Security is now using CB radio's channel 26 to further enhance our response times for you all. If you could be so kind as to turn to channel 26 upon your arrival at the first security officer on Stow Drive that would be greatly appreciated. Both of us are always there to answer any questions you have as well as to relay important...
Read moreOverall the experience with them is very impersonal, which is ok in most circumstances except when dealing with customer service. A girl named Sarah today was especially unhelpful and cold when dealing with a mistake that UNFI made with our order. She told me I needed every detail of our account and invoice number or else i had to call back when i had it. I didn't have the info at hand and would have appreciated a warmer attitude when it came to interaction. If they hadn't mistaken our order, we wouldn't have even called. It took me a minute to pull up the info she needed (customer number) and she needed both specific invoice number and specific item number (not name of item) in order to credit a mistake they made. I don't understand why customer service can't see our invoice history when we give them our customer info. I like their online portal and the products they offer but if there is a mistake on their end when it comes to an order a little friendliness and accommodation goes a long way. Maybe I am just naive but other vendors have been much more accommodating to their clients in these...
