I should have paid more attention to the reviews on Yelp stating you need to check your receipt, beware of prices, and the mention that the buy 1 get 2 isn't being honored. My first time ever buying in WY, I went to Artillery World and their sister store Jurassic Fireworks. When I walked in I was greeted by two young boys who did what they could to fill up my cart. That's ok, it's sales and I'm ok with that. I told them I had a budget of $500 and they kept saying I was within in the budget as we added items. Long story short, when I went to pay, it was WAAAY over my budget at almost $800 and the owner Pete (nice guy in conversation) said I would have to put things back. I did not receive my "get 2" promotion despite "buying 1." They also didn't tell me you have to buy your first larger firework at retail for $350-$400 to get 50% off on anything else. The whole pricing thing was confusing and made me think it was by design. I ended up talking to Pete and he told me he would honor the missing mortar shell pack but after multiple attempts to get ahold of him on how this transaction will work, he has ghosted me and won't return my texts. I'm 4 hours drive time from this shop and without getting a response from him, I can't comfortably take that much time away from my day to end up being taken advantage or lied to.
I did not receive a receipt which was my mistake not asking for one. There was a line behind me and I felt pressured to keep moving. If you do choose to be a patron of this these stores, keep your receipts guys! If the owner would honor what he told me he would on the phone after I caught this, that would be nice but he has not and I don't foresee...
Read moreThis is the most Expensive firework store in the Cheyenne area by a long shot. They do have great fireworks but even with the 65% discount, this is still the most expensive place.
I highly recommend driving another 5 minutes down the highway to Wholesale Fireworks. They have the best selection, the best prices, the best service hands down. I have spent about $3,000 at Wholesale fireworks. I have spent close to $2,000 at Phantom, and about $800 at Artillery World/Jurassic(same owner), and I have spent about $500 at Pyro City. They all have good fireworks. But your dollar is best spent where it will go the most and that place is Wholesale Fireworks. I do post pictures of everything I purchase from every store in the reviews and I recommend making the drive down the highway. .
The largest of the firework stores in Cheyenne. This place does have a great selection of fireworks but it does come at a price. They say 65% off entire store... but it's 45% off then an additional 20% off which actually makes it around 55% off. Having to do this kind of math is extremely annoying. The sales guy running the store is extremely nice and happy to show you everything he likes and recommends. They have a great assortment of almost everything. Their Mortar Selection is the largest in town, They have a ton of amazing cakes and fountains. I just wish this place was more affordable. Because of the pricing structure this is my least favorite place to stop...
Read moreGood people and good selection. They do not understand math though. They said I’d get 65% off but they split up the discounts into 40% 25% and 5%. They took 40% off the full subtotal, then 25% off the discounted subtotal after the 40% was taken off, then 5% off the subtotal after the 40% and 25% were taken off. So on the receipt at a quick glance it looks like I got 70% off but I only got 57.25% off. Not sure if that’s a purposeful scam or if they just don’t understand math but I’m slightly disappointed. They charged me almost $30 more than I was supposed to be charged.
Also they have buy 1 get 2 free, but the one you buy has to be at full retail not the discounted price listed. They explained this to me while I was shopping and before I checked out, so I knew what I was getting, but still seems misleading. Especially since they had 65% off and buy 1 get 2 is technically 66% off. So I got 1% extra off for spending a lot more.
I’m not going to get mad over $30 but as a math nerd and someone who runs a business, I know...
