I paid in advance for a book that had to be ordered in. It turns out that there was a misunderstanding and the wrong book was ordered. When they called to let me know it had arrived and I was made aware of the mix-up, I requested that I be allowed to return the book that was incorrectly ordered for the one that I actually needed. The employee made it very clear that she was doing me a favor by doing this because it was past the return date. I was also blamed for the wrong book being ordered because I had “no evidence” to prove otherwise. Also, I am not sure how it was past the return date, as I came to pick it up as soon as it arrived. If this date is based off of when it was ordered, I do not understand how I am supposed to know that I want to return something without first seeing/receiving it? Secondly, I inquired about a separate book that I had paid for/ordered and was still waiting on. I was told that their records showed that I already picked it up, it was out of their inventory and there was nothing they could do for me and that I “must be confused.” Obviously, books are not cheap and I needed this material for school. At this point, knowing that I in fact had NOT picked that book up and it was NOT in my possession, i feared I would have to pay for this book AGAIN. I left in an emotional state after being accused of lying multiple times and taking a loss of money for the book. About 10 minutes later, I received a call letting me know that the book had been found in the back room with my receipt stapled to it and I could come pick it up at my earliest convenience. I work retail myself and I understand having mix-ups and I know some customers do lie BUT I have spent over $3,000 with this bookstore over my 5 semesters as a USAO student and I was shocked that I was given no credibility or respect as a customer. I left feeling very insulted, embarrassed, and ashamed. Although we were able to be civil in the end, I was never...
Read moreSmall on-campus bookstore with adjacent USAO gift shop. Like every other college bookstore on the planet book prices are sky-high. Unless you have an unlimited supply of mommy & daddies money Amazon will save you a ton. Supplies (notebooks, binders, etc) are also overpriced. You are far better off going to Walmart. Aside from that there is a section devoted to a variety of USAO/Drover clothing and gifts. It too is on the expensive side but it's kind of the only place you'll find the stuff. C'mon! Get your...
