I wanted this place to be my go to for all my lawn care needs. I was not greeted with the most friendly smile when I first entered but Penny warm up. I bought a zero turn and was told I would be on the mailing list for yearly reminders for services and such. Going on my second and have yet to have any communication from Allens. I sent a text online my first year asking about the reminder and never got a response. Had a problem a couple months ago with my zero turn. Called and no one picked up, just went to automation, which is ok since they could be busy. Was given different options to leave a voicemail to which I did on all 3 lines. Never got a call back. I now have a problem again but hesitant to call or take my mower there for service. Kudos to the ones who has had great experiences. I was not one. Being in customer service you should not pick and choose who you want to greet and smile. It is not hard to put on a fake smile. Yes, I've been in the service field. I was an LEO for a long time and dealt with AHs daily but always kept a smile. Remember money knows NO color. I know you don't need me as a customer and it's ok but just wanted to share my experience. Maybe I'm the...
Read moreOn March 30, I stopped in to pick out a new zero turn mower. I believe it was Lauren who helped me. He showed me the Stealth, XL and Ariens Icon XD. I was told it was the XD 52 which was comparable to the stealth and XL which were 48” and 52”. I know it was the XD 52 because he said it was the exact same as the Gravely X but I would save $300 by going with the Ariens. So I told him I would be back in a few weeks to pick it up. I then called a week later to have them put my name on the XD 52 since it was mower season and I knew they could sell out. Well I finally go to pick it up and find out they put my name on the XD 42. So I ask about the XD 52 that I was sold on and they say they never carried it. They offered a $100 discount on the Gravely but didn’t work with me anymore and didn’t care that I was “sold” something they didn’t carry. I went to them based on the great customer service reviews I saw. I did not experience that when I went to pick up a mower this morning that they claim they never carried even though I was told they carried it and they put my name on it when I called. If you visit them make sure they actually have the item. Very disappointed and will...
Read moreI took my mower there because I thought that I had carburetor problems. The owner bragged on how good his new mechanic was. The mechanic thought that it was the carb. The owner charged me around two or three hundred dollars to clean, reassemble and reinstall the carb (this was some time ago). The mower would not start when I got it home. I brought it back when I had time (a week or two later) . The owner was in the parking lot when drove up and he told me that they would not even look at it so, I did not even get my mower off of the trailer. The problem turned out to be a bad choke cable. Fortunately, I Found an ethical company, Hustler dealer, on South Harrah road (just north of SE 29th) who was willing to correct the mistakes of Allen's Power Equipment and the Hustler dealer stands behind his work. I do not plan on ever stepping foot inside Allen Power's Equipment again. I wish that I could give fewer stars but I am afraid that someone might think that I forgot to rate this...
