Perry Lanes Bowling Center — Local services in City of Johnstown

My oldest son Jason and I are bowling Thursday nights, after a break of several years. If you had any thoughts of bowling, I would encourage you to visit Perry Lanes Thursdays and check it out. This is not a personal crusade to defend Perry Lanes, however I think it's important that people understand the situation. Perry Lanes had been a family owed bowling center for decades, where hundreds of Fulton County residents bowled for years.

Perry Lanes was sold several years ago to previous owners and for what ever reason, they were unable to reinvest the money necessary to maintain the building itself, as well as all of the equipment necessary to operate a bowling center.

With tremendous help and support from family, the current owners are attempting to bring Perry Lanes back from the DEAD and restore some of its former glory, so...

Came in for the very first time as we live out of town & were visiting with local friends. The staff are absolutely kind, just incredibly BUSY and seemingly only available to regulars. But Was absolutely not impressed. If I could give 0 stars, I would. Went in and stood there for almost 15 mins waiting to be helped to even get in the place. That entire time we were stared at by like half the building who I am assuming, are regulars there. We were put in a lane directly next to a group of drunk people, with absolutely no physical barrier in between us and them. The lanes worked when they wanted, which held us up a lot. We didn’t even finish a game. The place is quite literally falling apart. Ceiling saturated with water and falling apart— “Bowl at your own risk” signs written (comical honestly). Waited about 10 mins for anyone to order food....

I havent been there in years, it was nice the last time I was actually inside though. I just wish that they had updated hours posted someplace. I ended up getting an extra night off work, so I picked my kids up early and decided to take them bowling. I couldn't find their hours online anywhere, so I called first just to make sure. I got an automated voicemail that said they would be open tonight at 5pm. We got there a little early, but waited in the parking lot till almost 5:30. I called again with no luck. Just before I left, I walked up just to see if anyone was inside, and also to check for any hours/info that may be posted on the door. Nothing but a closed sign with a clock that said "will return at 4:30". So, oh well I guess, hopefully I'll have better luck...
