So many "antique shops" are actually flea markets or indoor garage sales, but not here at Showcase Antiques. As their name suggests, the place is lined with secure showcases where dealers aren't afraid to offer the best from their inventory. Surrounding the showcases are open booths where larger pieces and furniture are on display. The place is clean, well lit, and orderly. It is located in Canal Place, a nice destination for a day trip or a weekend. Prices are a hair on the high side but the owner/manager there was willing to bargain. Very clean and nicely laid out; easy to navigate. I was impressed when (at 3:45 and approaching the closing time of 4) my friend said to the owner that we know we have to get going. The owner's response?
