Always monitor what you are being charged at this store!! Obvious lack of caring and motivation by staff at times. Getting cheated regularly at this Tops Market 450 West Avenue, Rochester, NY location. Consistently seeing inconsistencies in pricing, with cash outs always higher than what actual price shows at item display. A few weeks ago lost around $15. Biggest rip-off was special corn deal marked special price, yet at checkout was charged almost $10 for 10 ears. Same thing on other items, price higher that was marked. Most items where not what sales price actually was when checking receipt after purchase. When trying to get money back, was told by manager customer service was closed and had to come back when open. This is because I used debit card to pay supposedly. Never had the chance to return so forced to accept the loss. On 8/8/18 around 7pm I was very vigilant when cashing out, making sure I would not be jypped by West Avenue Tops again. Associate at checkout flat out lied to me when asking if I was getting discount for peaches, saying incorrectly .99 cents per pound, yet receipt charging me almost double price! Lucky nice manager was helpful and gave me cash refund over $4, even though I used my debit card. Come to find out, what happened a different higher price code was entered, for better quality peaches, but was not truthful when asking if I was getting actual discount. Very disappointed with this store and will avoid shopping here in the future! UPDATE* 9/20/18 Why does my bad luck seems to always happen at the West Avenue Tops? Went here today because desperate & needed to pick up a few items as I on 1/2 hour lunch break. This latest 450 West Avenue Tops nightmare experience occurred around 5:35 pm. Only two cash registers opened unfortunately. Unlucky me, I always pick the wrong line it seems. Why just two registers open seemed quite odd, as store actually very crowded. The young female cashier looking noticeably miserable, laboriously working the cash register with complete inefficiency, line not moving at all. The older lady manager was the one who I blame for not noticing the seriousness of the situation and getting multiple cash-registers opened up. It was so obvious the poor girl did not want to be there. Whatever the problem was, she abandons the cash register for at least 5 minutes. Seemed on the verge of losing it when returning, her outward body language appearing somewhat angry. The manager could not take control of the situation, which resulted in customers forced to suffer unnecessary with delays in their valuable time. The only way out for me would be simply leave my cart there & walk out, but I was hungry. Finally the manager got other cash registers open but mine still painfully slow, trapped in pokey line. Watching other people breezing through the other lines was hugely frustrating. Serves me right for going here, submitting myself to this poor excuse for a store! Sad this isn't the store being closed as one of the 5 in Rochester being shut down. Why not this store, instead of the one on Lake Avenue? I hope I never have to go here again, and if I do its my own fault, knowing how awful this place is. The frustration and tension this West Avenue Tops created gave me a big headache. Plus, I was three minutes late punching the timeclock after returning from my lunchbreak. The last laugh was on me I guess. **Update 12/11/18 Had to drop in since the last time I wrote this last review and something bad happened again! Mandarin Oranges were marked at $4.99 lb. But when checking out, the girl deliberately charged $8.99 which was almost double the price! But because I am "onto" them here, I immediately caught it before I actually paid. Why does this keep happening? My guess is the cashiers are hustling on the side deliberately stealing money from the customers. Why the heck does same thing keeps happening every time I go here! Something needs to be done about this dishonest business!! I just cant win with...

I don't usually shop at Tops as Wegmans has set the expectation for me. I stopped in yesterday to grab lunch meat and bread and was reminded why I shop at Wegmans. The young lady that served me was polite and took her time packaging my purchase. I was very disappointed with the selection they had to choose from. The meat case was almost empty (to the point of me asking if they were going out of business) and they only offer Land O Lakes sharp cheddar-no other brand. I love Coopers sharp as well as Adams Reserve. I had to settle for the only brand they offer. Also, the Cajun Turkey Breast that I purchase at Wegmans for $7.99 per pound was $8.99 per pound at Tops. Why? I will only shop here if I can't get to Wegmans which is probably once...

The Tops Friendly Market located on West main Street Rochester NY. Was such a disappointmentsl, the store was very filthy.and especially in the Bottle area and it's always like that Floor filthy trash cans running over and that gave the nerve to say quality is our best. I want to call the health department that is how filthy it is.just discussed with it. Will NEVER go back. I asked to speak To the manager and he would not come to the service desk what a shame it should be shut down You want me to rate hoe it feel about the store I can't because it's a big fat zero.so since all I Have is the stars in give it a 1.
