Gedney Farms Nursery — Local services in City of White Plains

I would give zero if I can. We used to go to this place a lot for plants. We were aware the owners were not the nicest people to talk to, they are cold and careless to customers in general but ok to do business with until something really outrageous happened. We have been looking for rocks and they have a big pile on sale. We went there multiple time to check on the availability and pricing. The owners have always told us the largest ones are 35 dollars each. On Saturday we brought our contractor over to load the rocks. We were only half way through, one of the owners jumped out starting yelling at the worker who was helping us loading, she was so crazy that she shouted at me as well for taking away her worker to load rocks for me. Since I needed those rocks, I asked her nicely how we can work this out according to her schedule despite the fact she was rude and unprofessional to me, believe or not, she started shouting at me again telling me I am thrown out of their nursery. Since we needed those rocks on that day, I stayed calm and went to talk to the other owner who seems to be a bit more sane. He agreed to load the rest of the rocks for us but at the checkout, we were told the price is doubled! The woman is crazy and the man is a rip-offer. They abuse their workers with similar behaviors. We will report them to BBB for price manipulation and violation...

This was second time I visited Gedney farm and while the staff is pleasant the owner is rude. I let it go the first time because everyone has a bad day, but after today I will never return.

I went inside and said hello trying to get his attention so I could pay. He replied hi and walked away. I waited there for a few minutes. When he return I asked him if I should bring my items inside, he lower his mask and said what. I repeated myself and said they were on a cart, he repeated “a cart” in short manner and told me to wait by my car and he would take care of me. It seemed as though I was bothering him.
