Stopped in at Bob's CB shop today after a hack tech butchered my CB 50 miles down the road. Bob was able to repair the damage the other guy did, and did a very thorough tune up, for $10 less than what I paid to have it butchered by the other guy. Now my radio performs and sounds like it should. As I was waiting, I walked around Bob's shop and checked out his merchandise and pricing. He has a vast assortment of brand new 10 and 11 meter radios, base stations, antennas, mics, coax, and any other thing CB related you could possibly think of. He also carries a nice assortment of SiriusXm radios and accessories. As far as merchandise pricing goes, Bob has some of the best I have ever seen at a CB shop. His pricing is a close as you are ever going to get to online pricing at a brick and mortar store, and all of the radios that he sells are already peak and tuned. I just wish I had been to his shop before I bought my radio and had it worked on by a hack. I would have saved myself about $130 by the time it was all said and done.
To make a long story short; If you need any kind of work done to your CB or antenna system, or you are looking to purchase a new radio or accessories, I would not hesitate to stop at Bob's CB shop.
On a side note, I saw one review where someone said the people at the shop were very rude. I didn't get that at all. There were 3 people working at the shop while I was there, one of which was Bob. Bob is the only person that works on radios and he just isn't a very talkative person, especially when he is working on a radio. There was also a guy there that did installs and antenna work. And then there was a woman behind the counter who answered the phones and people on the CB, stocked, and tried to answer questions the best she could. Understand, this is a very busy shop and the techs are trying to do the best job they can in the shortest amount of time possible, but some things take a little bit to do. How would you feel if in the middle of an install on your vehicle, the tech stopped what he was doing for 10 or 15 minutes to go answer questions or to help someone else? How would you feel if Bob started chatting with customers while working on your radio and messed something up? Read moreI've been going to Bob's 15 years now. One of only 3 or 4 I trust in the nation. This is not a snip and clip shop, or cb chop shop. Bob is a TECH, of all things CB, 10 meter, etc! He's never been an overly friendly guy, not very talkative, but all-out business. He's usually extremely busy, so don't expect small talk. A nose to the grind stone tech. Work is done in view, and yes, all the equipment of a real tech is used. Yes, he's been sick, and only doing part time hours, but he's apparently older than I thought, as he never looked it, but his stickers on his radios for 2021 are "52 years...!" I've bought, had tuned CORRECTLY, C O R R E C T L Y, many radios, which I then sell, as drivers in my general home area love them! Just bought another the other day for another local driver. Read moreI have been going to Bob's for the past 4 years for installs and radio work. He is very reasonable on prices and he has a lot of different accessories to pick from. I have taken multiple broken radios to him, and also radios that have been messed up by other shops and Bob always makes them 110% when he is finished without gouging you on the cost. Bob is a man of few words and he is very attentive to his work; so if you are going in there to try and make a new friend you will be disappointed because he keeps to himself and concentrates on the task at hand. All of his employees are very friendly and helpful. John has performed all of my installs, has helped me with all of my accessory purchases, and always takes time to chat or show me whatever accessory I ask him about in the store. These folks are probably the best in the business in more ways than one, and only one of a few shops I don't mind to shop at. Keep up...
