My daughter and I were excited to visit Antique Stores along Hwy 79 above St. Louis. After reading all the wonderful reviews of Clarksville Antiques, that was going to be our first stop! When we got there we checked out the front porch area. It was so filthy and covered with dirt, rust and spider webs we could not get to the items we might have wanted. When entering the store, you are instantly hit with an overwhelming mildew and rot smell. On a 1-10 scale I would give the odor a 20! I cannot believe no one mentioned this in their reviews. And that fact seemed to anger the resident dog, who followed me around barking, rather viciously. The owner never left her seat, and merely shouted the dog's name, which did nothing to stop him. She didn't apologize nor try to stop him. I left with the dog barking behind.
