2024 UPDATE: We enjoyed dinner here last Valentine’s Day, so we decided to go here again this year. Unfortunately, it wasn’t as good of an experience. The fresh salads were very good. We were asked if we wanted bread, which we said we did. We were looking forward to some freshly baked “restaurant bread,” but the two small rolls appeared to be Sister Schubert rolls from Walmart. She brought two more later since they were only four small bites apiece.
I had pecan crusted whitefish as the main dish, with sides of green beans and potatoes. I don’t know if the fish was fried or baked, but it was saturated with oil and just not very appetizing. The sides were ok. My wife’s $30 ribeye was a nice sized cut, but was a low-grade piece of meat, with virtually no marbling, so it was tough and dry. Granted, she ordered it medium well, but it was cooked past that and we both considered it as well done since juices were lacking.
We opted for crème brûlée and decaffeinated coffee for dessert, but apparently their shipment didn’t arrive the previous day, so no crème brûlée for the second year. We were told they don’t serve decaffeinated coffee. How about getting a Keurig, buying some 30-cent coffee pods and selling it for $3? Anyway, we split a nice-sized piece of rich brownie cheesecake. We told our server, who did a fine job all evening, that we were going to share the dessert, so she brought two forks but only the one saucer the dessert was on. It would have been nice to have had a second saucer.
I’m sure we’ll be back sometime, but probably only for a sandwich lunch or my wife’s organization may host a luncheon here sometime in the future.
2023 REVIEW: My wife and I enjoyed a delicious prime rib dinner for Valentine’s and thoroughly enjoyed it. It’s in a beautiful older building on the University of Ozarks campus with gorgeous hardwood floors and walls and very nice ambience. Back to the food… the dinner included a generous portion of prime rib, (maybe German?) potatoes, side salad, bread and dessert. The table service was adequate, but the young lady waiting on us got involved in a conversation with another customer that lasted about 15 minutes while we waited on her check. The bread? It was never brought to us. We were also both supposed get a dessert, but the server said they were out of the one advertised with the meal, but we would have to share if we wanted another one. That seemed sort of chintzy, but all in all, it was a good experience, even with the hiccups. A couple of gentlemen, presumably managers, thanked us for our business at different times. It was nice to hear our business was...
Read moreAs soon as we walked in with our two service animals that are tasked trained to medicate our disability we are were immediately asked for certification, mind you that there is no certification required when it comes to service animals. The waitress kept trying to get a peace paper that her boss had written down on. We quickly tried to tell her that you can only as the two questions. After being educated politely she asked the two questions and everything seemed well. Then, we were seated next to another table with a non service dog under neath it. The other animal immediately started winning and get at our animals. We have seen this non service animal running around on the Ozarks campus before off leash and running up to ours. What baffles me is the reason we were asked for certification is because they were trying to be stricter and limit the amount of pets and ESA’S. This dog was clearly a pet and not a service animal. I also don’t understand why that they would sit a service animal next to another dog when it’s very well known that service animals can get distracted from time to time. And if they miss an alert that can lead to death along with legal action and jail time. I was shocked after this interactions with all the good...
Read moremy husband and I hadn't even heard of this place until the day before valentines day. I had asked my Facebook friends where we could go in clarksville to have a nice valentines dinner and let me tell you at least 10 people told me to come here. when we walked in, they were very busy and we got put on a waiting list as expected on a night like this. we waiting about an hour, the wait was well worth it! it's hard to find a restaurant that is so clean and well organized. the hostesses kept everyone updated on wait times, the servers did an amazing job at taking the order and making sure we were happy. if we needed anything, they were quick to help. everyone was so friendly, it's been awhile sinse we've been to such a friendly place to eat. we were greeted with a smile and the staff seemed excited to be there. did I mention how clean it was? the place was packed and I can't even say the floor looked dirty. not a speck on anything on the table or chairs. Hot food, made exactly how we ordered. our server was a young guy and he really did a great job keeping up, everyone did, honestly. we'll be back...
