ATR Truck & Trailer — Local services in Clayton

These guys are great. Their customer service is top notch. I had an issue with a tire on my travel trailer snapping the lug nuts and flying off while driving down the road. This trailer was just at the dealer I purchased it from to have the wheel bearings repacked. Turns out the dealer didn't torque the lug nuts correctly and all the tires were loose. This could have ended very badly.

Luckily, ATR was only a few miles from where I lost my tire and I was able to limp the trailer to them on 3 tires. They were so professional, I can not recommend these guys enough. They got my parts ordered up, and once they were delivered, I was back on the road in 45 minutes. Oh yea, and ATR even contacted the other shop and explained how they messed up and forgot to tighten my tires. They sent the other shop (who they are not affiliated with) the bill and they didn't charge me a dime. They didn't have to do that, and they took it upon themselves to try and save me some money. I brought my car into ATR Clayton, WI for an electronic window motor repair. I was not given a written repair order with an estimate in accordance to Wisconsin law ATCP 132.03. Repairs were done on the same day while I assumed I was waiting for this repair order estimate. This is predatory behavior

When I complained, the $495 price was lowered but not to the original verbal quote given.

It was a horrible experience, I was laughed at, belittled, yelled at, blamed for their mistake of ordering the wrong part and browbeaten by Rebecca the receptionist and the male owner, John Gitzen. As a women of a certain age, I thought this behavior didn’t exist anymore.

Gitzen gave me an ultimatum to pay their cost, or remove the repair and still pay labor costs. I didn’t know my rights at the time to a written, signed repair order which prevents predatory habits like this from happening. They went above and beyond to fix something in my van right before I was supposed to leave on my trip. The part wasn’t being made anymore so they came up with a clever solution to fix it, and thank god it worked! Didn’t charge me much money virtually nothing. And right before I left I asked if someone could check my tire pressure for me and make sure they were good and they did it free of charge. Very polite and nice people. Thanks...
