Did you know that a medium rare piece of prime rib should be grey/brown in color? Thatâs what the cook told us loudly and embarrassingly when we complained that we would prefer our meat to be cooked medium rare. She told us that the ONLY way prime rib could be pink is if she served it rare and then the meat would be COLD.
So she re-cooked it, and true to her word, it was indeed cold. However, it wouldnât have mattered because it was horribly tough and relatively impossible to chew anyway. We didnât complain a second time though, we just paid our bill and left.
Never, ever have we been reprimanded by a cook and told that the pink, medium rare prime rib weâve been eating for over 40 years never really happened.
I would challenge her to do a google search and ask for the internal temperature of rare meat. She would be surprised, because itâs NOT cold.
Weâve always had lousy food here but thought weâd give it one more try since it was prime rib night. We should have known it could be a problem as no one else in the restaurant had prime rib. Big mistake. Huge. Ripped off. Berated and embarrassed.

Clean and good vibes with 90s country playing. Ton of different drink selections which was kind of surprising for such a small town bar. Bartender was quick, friendly, & attentive and food was really great and came out fast! We got the sampler platter, chicken wrap, & wings and my husband said the wings were better than Buffalo Wild Wings. Think we will be making a special trip to WI just for this place...
Read moreOrdered prime rib sandwich, it was gross! Chewy and stringy. Took one bite and didn't eat the rest told waitress and she "oh sorry" and walked away. Didn't offer to take it off the check or ask if he wanted something else. Blue cheese burger -- burger was fine but the blue cheese had a weird taste so she only ate about a 1/3 of it. Taco salad was fine but why is there 1/2 an onion chopped up in it? That's excessive and I dumped most of it out onto the plate. It was pretty chilly in the place too. Considering the response to the prime rib sandwich and the limited menu I doubt...
