I drove an hour to meet Camel, my family and I were looking for a small breed puppy since we already have a bigger doggy inside. We lost our sweet baby girl in April and I wasn't sure if getting another dog would be a good idea. But when going and meeting camel it changed my mind. He was so sweet and loving and my 2 year old loved him as well. The young man that helped me through the process was amazing and answered all my questions and concerns. He didn't pressure me in any way and he allowed us to have alone time with camel to see if he was a good fit. Welp, now camel is home with us and gets along perfect with our big boy Chaac. I found this sweet boy on a Sunday, I’m not from the area. I stayed close to where I found him 1 full day to see if he would find his way home. I kept him for2 days until they opened Tuesday . I also live in a van, otherwise I would’ve kept him. When I brought “ knucklehead” into paws 4 life I was told by the woman with an attitude running the place she would’ve left him on the road, there are no leash laws in this county. She rolled her eyes when I asked for the collar and leash that I keep on hand for these situations. I seriously felt judged by this true knucklehead for picking a stray up who was in the middle of the road and caring for him for 2 days. We adopted our sweet pup at Paws4life in January, 2019. We live in Arden, NC, and we drove 4 hours round trip to get her. The staff were very helpful and super patient with our children (they wanted to pick up every single puppy, naturally). We could tell that they really care about the animals they help find homes for. The establishment was clean and organized, our new puppy was healthy and had been well taken care of. We were not expecting to receive a small crate, a bag of puppy food AND a blanket (all free) with our new puppy!
