Tanglewood Park is BEAUTIFUL!  You have to pay to get in; however, once you’ve paid you can come and go into the park throughout the day as you please. I would advise making a day of it.  There is so much to do.  The day I visited there was a wedding and it is a gorgeous back drop for that event. Of course, there is golfing but there is so much more.  They have a pool for swimming, playgrounds for kids to play, a train, boating, and a BMX track.  There are also horses and lots of animals that are roaming in designated areas for the family to observe and experience.  You could ride horses, ride your bike, enjoy the BMX track, or even just walk.  I would describe the walking as easy and good for all ages.  The entryway is beautiful and there is so much land and available experiences that it would be hard to be bored. Again, I would suggest making a whole day trip with the family, packing food and drink.  There are lots of places to sit and have a quiet and shaded spot for a picnic with the family, to sit and read a book, and just to enjoy the views that the park provides.

I am an avid golfer that lives in Charlotte area. If you aren’t a member of a club (like myself) you often drive far to find a solid course. Today, I played the Tanglewood championship course with a friend. I cannot speak higher of the experience. Greens were phenomenal, fairways were green and bunkers were adequately filled with sand. Definitely worth the hour drive to play. I don’t think there is a better value out there in NC. I definitely will be back. For those who have played Southern Pines Golf Club, this track felt very similar, oh and for about a third of the price!

Tanglewood Festival of Lights was a great nighttime Christmas adventure. Not only awesome light displays but a fun stop at the gift shop with local craft and food items to purchase. Enjoyed the outside food vendor with streetcorn and a loaded hotdog (a s'more station for roasting marshmallows is also here). $20 per regular size vehicles.

First time on course. Wanted to play the championship course, but couldn't get an early time and wound up playing the Reynolds course. Decent layout with several doglegs and hybrids or woods off the tee. Practice green was fast as linoleum and then we get to the course and the greens are still wet, shaggy long, and incredibly slow. No way to keep putts on line when you have to kill it to get to the hole. I guess practice green more in tune with championship course,,,,,, but you have 2 courses on site. Why not treat them similarly?????? Pretty disappointed overall especially after driving an hour to get to course. Even the fairways were long and shaggy to the point of possibly losing balls. Even at $35, you should expect better than that; poor...

the Reynolds course is a joke the conditions are awful the greens are bare in spots all over every green the tee boxes are unlevel and also bare in spots this course is slowly becoming worse and worse they get millions to build a new clubhouse when the courses are both just run down yet they will charge you $36 -$42 for the reynolds... robbery basically, the championship course is decent but also over priced for a city municipal whole place is over priced not to mention they havent given the Par 3 course any attention in years it seems that par 3 and driving range hasnt seen an upgrade its whole life the way its...
