The Harvest Market — Local services in Clermont

I moved to downtown Clermont last year and was so excited to see a market with locally sourced, organic, natural foods as this was something I was missing in the last city I lived in. I stopped in and found the girls at the counter to be very unfriendly. Chatted amongst themselves and when I tried to make conversation about how I was so happy this was nearby to where I lived, I was met with a condescending attitude and brushed off like I was inconveniencing them by being in the store. I also specifically had gone in for free range organic eggs that were local (this was before the egg price inflation). All of the eggs they had were “cage free”, came from a large facility and around $8/dozen. Thought that was outrageous for something I could pay half the price of at Publix. The variety of pastas and cheeses were good but not enough to want to support them further. Needless to say, I did not return and will not. They have some amazing grass fed meat selections along with some fresh produce from the local farms. They really focus on local and fresh options skipping the whole "distributor" in the middle which I noticed meant fresher options actually from the farm and fair prices.

Jessica took the time to walk me through the store and pointed out some of her recommendations and explained some of the differences in their fresh and local options. They are working hard with some other local farms to keep bringing more fresh options, I can't wait to go back and see what's new as the seasons change.

What a pleasant experience. I hadn’t been by yet and stopped in during my errands to take a look around. I was able to have great conversation with the Owner and Staff and it really was the highlight of my day. They took the time to answer all of my questions and inform me of some of their healthy products. I was definitely intrigued by all the different sorts of goodies, from ancestral meats, cheesecake, protein bars, prepped meals and soups, vegetables, eggs, and of course what I went for, local honey. They have so many great products, I feel like I will never get bored. I also got to pick up a fun piece of artwork that I cannot wait to hang. Such a blessing to have Harvest Market in our town.
