TIP— bring drinking water!
TIP— the trail is an incline to get to the point, with occasional small “steps” made with long wooden planks, so be advised if you have different mobility.
TIP— the descent to the water is EXTREMELY STEEP once you’re at the top. DO NOT RUN DOWN. There’s a sign that says the same thing, but just be aware it could take much more time & energy than you planned on using to get back up this monstrous/glorious/massive sand dune. Very likely you will feel like you’ve climbed 1 million stairs by the end.
TIP— Watch your kiddos. You don’t want to rescue them if you don’t have to!

The entire trail is 3 ish miles, and as a hiker I can tell you that this is a definite challenge. You hike up to the top of the dunes, and the views are spectacular, then you mosey north from the view along a sketchy trail and you find yourself on top of another dune, sliding down back to the trail which takes you to a beautiful meadow. The wall of colors on either side of the meadow were stunning, then you finish with a steep incline constant hike back up to finish a short hike on a dirt road to your cars. ...
