I first met Peter while he was with McCarty. He was taught by the best, Lee and Pup. He learned but had his own vision and with the help of family, opened Peter’s Pottery in 1998, in Mound Bayou. He and family put their heads together and designed the perfect studio that is easily moved around in, with clean and comfortable bathrooms, plus many other buildings. He saw the need for generators and bought them; when his Mother gave him advice, he listened. When Covid hit, Peter listened to her and bought another kiln. I do not have to wait in line to enter Peter’s and if what I want isn’t on the shelves, all I need do is ask someone at the counter. They will go find it or allow me to order. The turnaround is reasonable and I can choose to go to the Delta to pickup or they are happy to mail to my house perfectly and safely packed. I made my first multi-piece order on the phone and picked up two weeks later. Wow, that was so easy and I was still able to shop before leaving:). Thank you Peter, other Wood brothers, sisters, cousins and sweet Mama Ruth for your vision and...
