Long post but I'm gonna try to be detailed as to why I'm giving them 2 stars.
First off, I've done just about every haunted attraction between Greensboro and the coast minus maybe 1 or 2 now. This was one of my last places to check out mostly because the idea of a hayride as the main attraction vs walking is automatically going to lessen the scares.
We got there about 7:30pm, got in line and there was 1 security guy wanding people. That created a long wait just to get past security. They really need 2 security people there. Get to the front of the line only to be told no bags allowed, so my wife had to return to our car to drop her bag, and then we had to wait another 10 mins to go back through the entire line again. There's a giant banner with prices right by security, they need a sign there stating no bags. There is a small sign once you get past security on the ticket office, but that can't be seen from the security checkpoint. We saw lots of people have the same issue as us having to go back to the car.
Once past security, there's supposed to be separate lines for cash, online, and VIP to get to the ticket office. Multiple ropes were broken and nobody was out there controlling the crowds so everyone just piled in to one long line.
After making to the ticket booth we were told to see a lady at a table to get further directions. The lady wrote down our phone number and name, said we would get a text when its time to join the line for the hayride. Its important to note there was never any mention of how long that may take. Its also a really terrible system on how to do that because if she writes down the wrong number you're screwed (just use ticket #'s Like other haunts do!) . All we were told is you can go visit "The Darkness" while you wait.
So thinking it likely wouldn't take that long based off our history of doing many other haunted places and having gotten there before 8pm, we went straight on to The Darkness and did it. Overall it was okay, it's not totally dark except in certain spots. There were 2-3 actors total inside. Nothing great but not bad. You cannot access their "third attraction" Hella Acres until the end of the hayride so there's nothing else to really do other than the Darkness.
From there we roamed their small midway and walked through their "Murder Market" which appears to be a bunch of stuff they bought at Spirit Halloween and are re-selling. I want to point out there were 4 people sitting inside this market doing absolutely nothing that could have been helping control the lines outside to get in or helping with security instead of just sitting behind the counter.
They offer a few midway games and 2 mini escape rooms, however it seems you have to pay for these before entering and there's no place to pay for them once inside. Something that doesn't make much sense.
So then we waited... and waited... and waited. There's one small bleacher set but otherwise nowhere to sit at and nothing to do. Around 8:30 we asked the table lady about how long it would be and she said "idk maybe an hour".
About 9pm, we still hadn't gotten out text so we approached a different worker at the front of the hayrdie que. She was super nice but basically said she had no idea either. While talking to her we could see a different lady who was clearly the one texting the numbers and controlling who gets on to the actual hayride. She seemed to be arguing with multiple male staff members. It seemed they had no clue what all was going on either.
Finally at 9:29 we got our text, nearly 2 hours after getting there. It took another 15 mins to go through the corral to get on the ride. And once loaded on there was no driver for our tractor. Another few minutes go by and a man shows up who clearly isn't the normal driver but says he will take us.
Overall the hayride was okay. A lot of really good themes and decor. But lacking scares. Multiple times we were touched and lots of foul language by the clowns. I didn't care but kids may. There are better haunts available with less...

She choose option 2 even though she doesn’t like scary thing she felt she could do a haunted hayride but not a regular haunted house!! So off to Hollering Haunts we go! Purchased the speed pass package which include 3 attractions and we decided to do the hay ride first, got in line and I told her don’t show fear and what ever you do don’t run they’ll keep on messing with you . So as we’re waiting for the first hay ride to start we watched as the monsters chased people around and she was laughing at them and having a good time. So we get on the hay ride and the driver was messing with us my niece was laughing but could tell she was gettin a little nervous, the ride started and in less than like 2 minutes we were at the first drive through/scene my niece is hanging on tight and I point out what we thought was an animated person but nope he was real came right at us and my niece screamed and passed right out for like 30 seconds!! So as I’m trying to revive her and hold back the laughter she finally comes around and one of the characters whisper’s to me “it’s just going to get worse from here” lol! I could tell she was done and deeply shook up and motioned to the characters we were done they stopped and helped her out with some reluctance from her but they assured her they were there to help and lifted her out and walked us back to the exit. Everyone we came across was extremely professional and kind and went out of their way to help my niece after her traumatic experience! So from the time we arrived and the time we were back at my car was maybe 30 minutes And was probably the best $110.00 ( vip tickets 3 attractions 2 people)I’ve ever spent! Thanx Hollerin Haunts wish I could have experienced it all maybe next year but with out my niece. Oh ya so we stopped on the way home to get her a drink and when we came back to car she open the door and saw blood all over her seat and was freaking out again crying , I told her it must of been from the cast as they carried you of the hayride and was just there fake blood! She calmed down again and was laughing crying but then decided it was time to drop her off at home and then run incase her parents want to...
Read moreWe brought a small group to participate in the Rosemary's Baby Escape room. We get there, spend $5 a person to go in and as a group, are rather excited for the experience. Immediately noticed the first problem walking in the door..a room made for a max of 5 people really shouldn't hold more than 2. We had no room to move around in the room. After figuring out ways to maneuver and get a lay out of the room, finding a clue on what to do next, someone opens the door and says "Time's Up!" Confused, we try to see why and she says "Yep, 5 minutes flies by!" So you have 5 minutes to complete this escape room...I've never seen an escape room with a 5 minute timer. Not to mention, no one else was in line, they could have easily just let us stay longer to figure it out. It's also not advertised anywhere that the time limit is 5 minutes and it wasn't mentioned prior to walking in. It took us longer to get to this place from the actual city of Clinton than it did for us to get knocked out of the escape room. The drive there was scarier than the room itself with how far into the back roads it was. Disappointed, we thought about going on the hayride, but the wait would have been at least another 45 minutes to an hour to get on..and honestly we were all pretty irritated at that point anyway.
Unless this place advertises how long these attractions last, I can't recommend it to anyone. I've heard the hayride is a fun experience but again, it doesn't seem worth the wait.
Note to owner: If the escape rooms were a side attraction and completely pointless, then don't have them and focus on the hay ride. Also, it doesn't change the fact that the 5 minute timer isn't advertised anywhere...you know exactly what you're doing with that. Also, the wait time for the hay ride WAS that long...and if you read ANY of your reviews, you'd see it's longer in most cases. I also just learned that this business deletes negative reviews and blocks people on things like Facebook, where they can. Good way to run a business...avoid at all costs, buyer...
