This review is only for the hot food, I can’t speak to the butcher or food inside. I came for lunch on a Saturday. Being there this was the first time I ordered lunch from here, I was lit off my the attitude of the kids that work here. Yes, I say kids because the lack of care that is plastered across their face. I had questions about the menu. I felt like I was talking about to a brick wall. No emotion or knowledge whatsoever. No recommendations when asked … just kinda sad. No effort to sell the food. I asked if I could sample the chili beans as my mom LOVES chili beans … based on my what I already ordered, I think was prepared to buy a large side. The young man asked a young teenage female and she said we don’t do that. Mmm’kay. I ordered the Tri-tip sandwich, two hot dogs, an order of onion rings, potato salad and French fries. The tri-tip was dry, chewy and poorly sliced. The fries were okay. Nothing to write home about. The onion rings are good, but you literally get 6. I saw it on the menu thinking maybe they are large … nope standard onion rings that were EXTREMELY overpriced. The potato salad was bland and lifeless. Last but not least, the hot dogs. BURNT to a crisp. I drove over 20 mins home to find that the hot dogs were inedible. The teenage girl answered stating I’d have to bring the receipt AND food back. I told her “absolutely not”. I don’t her I am happy to refrigerate your hot dogs and bring them when I’m in those neck of the woods, but I am not driving 20 mins back today. She said her manager said that is the only way they could fix it. I asked to speak to the manager. Suddenly, they had a different tune. She explained she needed the receipt in order to refund it, which makes sense. I told her that the young lady literally just told me that you said I have to bring back the hotdogs and the receipt. That would be fine if I lived around the corner, but I drove over 20 minutes and I am not going to drive there for two hotdogs. My gas alone is worth more. I told her I would be willing to send her text message of the hotdogs, but they were black and inedible. She apologized stating that they probably were placed on the back of the grill and the grease overcooked them. The silly thing is if that’s the case, who never put the hot dogs together should have seen that they were burned to a crisp. She apologized and advised that she will remedy the situation when I come back. I don’t know what that means, but I’m hoping they’re not going to pass off the same type of hot dog IF I return. That’s just plain pathetic. I hate to give this review as I know my friends by their tri-tip here and it’s good. However, experiencing their lunch for the first time was an extreme let down hence the 1 star.

MY SECOND REVIEW A WEEK LATER: If I could give this establishment, again THE GRILL not the market, a 0 star or negative if I would. I was foolish to try it again after speaking to the manager Nancy last week based on the review below. But I did today as I was in the area looking at homes and wanted to give it a second chance. I spoke with Sara, who was a manager on site. I told her Nancy asked that I come in. She was well aware of the situation as she read my previous Yelp review from last week. She was very nice and apologetic. She offered a refund or anything on the menu. The gesture was sweet of her. I chose to give them another chance and ordered food. Big mistake! I ordered the brisket sandwich, which she highly recommended. This time I tried the macaroni salad and a side of chili beans for my mother. I thanked Sara for letting me sample the chili beans unlike the staff the week prior. When I got home, the sandwich was 80% FAT ... I kid you not! When I broke the sandwich in half, all you could see was clear fat. I don't know if she prepared it (I hope not) or if one of the staff members prepared it, but NO ONE should be served this type of meat. It was probably the worst brisket I have seen in my life! Each slice should not have 80% of fat. Every single piece! I'll let the pictures judge for themselves. Yelpers - I hate to put places as such on blast, but this is a shame. I called to speak to Sara and the same girl from my previous review answered the phone. She advised Sara had left for the day and Kiersten was the manager on site. I was there an hour ago! Kiersten refused to speak to me - the girl asked for my name and number for a call back. I asked, "so there's literally no one to speak with?" ... I even offered to hold as I wanted to correct the wrong. Her response was I can take your phone number. Whom ever this girl is ... she's RUDE and should not interact with customers. I was hoping to change my review to a 4 or 5 . NOPE! Anyway, I will not be going back to this establishment ... well the GRILL part - whatsoever! I did like the macaroni salad and beans.

Some wonderfully thoughtful friends of mine gave me a birthday gift of "prime" ribeye steaks from the Clovis Meat Market. They are not big on red meat and assumed that a place called the Meat Market could be relied upon for some good beef. However, I feel the need to publicly shame the Meat Market for what it is selling for $32.99 (online price, I assume the store price is the same or close) a pound and claiming it to be "prime". These are NOT prime ribeyes. They appear to be passing of Choice as Prime. For $33 per pound this should be the most magnificent piece of steak available...and it's not. Also note that these people can't even cut a steak evenly, which of course affects cooking. Walmart sells true Prime Ribeyes with fantastic marbling for literally half the price. Costco as well for a few bucks more. The Meat Market is ripping people off. AVOID it and don't assume you are getting good meat or a good price because you are not. Hell, they can't even take the time or care enough to cut the steaks properly!

I went here for lunch on Wednesday I ordered a ribeye sandwich with grilled onions and mayonnaise my coworker ordered a Philly cheesesteak we both ordered the combo they made me A pastrami with onions and I told him that I had ordered the ribeye sandwich the guy at the counter said rudely “well we made you a pastrami”.. I told him OK but I ordered a ribeye sandwich and that’s what I would ..like six people ordered after me and had gotten their food and all six orders were incorrect as well. After seeing everybody receive their orders I went to the window and asked where is my ribeye sandwich and the guy told me we gave it to you already I said no you didn’t or I wouldn’t be at the window asking for it then all the other people whose orders were wrong started complaining and we asked for the manager someone by the name of Reyna came to the window and I explained to her what was going on and I just wanted my money back the cheesesteak that my coworker ordered had meat and cheese that’s it no bell peppers or onions like it should’ve had I told her if she wanted to make the order right just refund the entire amount and we would leave she wouldn’t do it all she was deducted the cost of the steak sandwich that I never got and charged me for the soda and rice pilaf and charged my coworker his entire meal.. by the time we were done even the other people started asking for their money back and one guy refused to eat his sandwich because he was afraid by this time somebody would spit in it so my advice is never eat at the meat market again because I promise you I won’t my coworker won’t and the other six people that were there said the same thing THE MEAT...
