Over a month after purchase I can finally write the complete review of my terrible experience with Haverty's. The problems began upon original delivery of my entertainment center. The delivery and setup personal were rather unpleasant and seemingly uneducated with setting up the particular piece. The entertainment center includes shelving units on either side which are lit from the top. The lights on both sides of this unit are designed to come on together with the touch of a touchpad. This requires a two-into-one wire which was missing when your personnel were setting it up. However to cover the fact that this part was missing your installers decided to mislead me by showing each side working separately from each other by plugging each side's wire one at a time, leading me to believe each side activated individually. It was not until they left I realized both sides are supposed to activate together, and that a two-into-one wire must have been missing as both sides could not connect to the power source at the same time. I called customer service immediately and they scheduled a tech to come out (inconveniently techs were only available on Tuesdays or Thursdays). I had to miss a half-day of work and it’s pay for the tech to come out the following week and after an hour of looking dumbfounded and repeating variations of the phrase “the installers said it worked before they left” (which was super unprofessional and boarder-line like calling me a liar) the tech left after telling me they will express ship the replacement part to me because he did not bring one with him (what kind of tech does not carry replacement parts!). After another week of waiting (not very express) I finally received a part which was labeled “Splitter”. Sounds like what I needed however it was nothing but a single wire with completely different plugs from what was on the entertainment center to begin with. Needless to say this was completely wrong. I again contacted customer service. They instructed me to take a photo of what I received which I did. I also found online and provided a photo of what I believed I needed, a simple two-into-one wire connection. After a week more of hearing nothing customer service finally contacted me and informed that they would need to replace the entertainment center because apparently no one could identify the part that I needed. It was at this point I was completely taken aback by the incompetence and ineptitude of Haverty’s, and very disappointed that I would need to waste yet another day dealing with this issue. Also when I spoke with a manager I was informed the unit was a “potential fire hazard due to the wiring being incorrect” which is why they needed to replace the entire thing. That turned out to be a lie as I confirmed later the new unit that was brought has the exact same wire set up as the original. Finally last Saturday the installers showed up with the replacement entertainment center. But after opening the truck they learned the replacement unit was damaged after not being secured correctly, I was ready for this experience to be over so I asked the delivery people to open the unit up so I could see the wiring. I then immediately was able to identify and locate the two-into-one wire I needed from the start (which looked exactly like the photo I found on google and provided the week prior), I installed it in my original unit myself, and ended this horrible experience once and for all. I was not provided any compensation for time lost or my inconvenience, not even an apology. Needless to say I will never use Haverty’s again, and never recommend the...
Read moreMy wife and I purchased a sofa on 3/17/18, with an expected delivery of 3/22/18, between 10am and 12pm. No delivery was made in that time period and when my wife called Haverty's just before 12 noon to find out when they would arrive, she was told that they were at least 30 minutes behind. Unfortunately, my wife had to leave for an appointment. At that time, the delivery was rescheduled with an earliest delivery of 3/27/18 - nearly a week later. We were unhappy with this since it was not our mistake and we got rid of our old couch the day before. Your employee's attitude was of indifference.
A sales associate called shortly thereafter and told my wife that the delivery staff said they showed up at 12 to deliver the furniture but no one was present. My wife pointed out the fact that we have a time-stamped video surveillance system and assured him no one arrived prior to or at noon. In fact, my wife was on the phone with Haverty's at noon when the woman on the other end told her that the deliveries were running at least 30 minutes late.
Kudos to the sales associate. He was very apologetic and was able to move up the delivery to Saturday, 3/24/18. Unfortunately, the new delivery required us to cancel our plans for an annual event in Daytona. The delivery was set for between 12-2pm. Haverty's called us at 2pm letting us know they were running very late and to expect a new delivery time between 7-8pm. However, they arrived unannounced just after 5pm. I can only imagine what would have happened had we been gone. We wasted an entire Saturday waiting for our delivery! On a positive note, the delivery crew displayed great care and professionalism.
We have purchased from Haverty's since 1993. Our interactions have been pleasant and without issue. However, we are very disappointed in how this situation was handled. We are particularly disappointed with the indifference shown by the woman on the call and lack of urgency in resolving the issue.
This was the only response from Haverty's. Note the words mashed together. Disappointed.

Read moreI’ve shopped at Havertys in Sharpes, FL for decades. The quality of their furniture is generally high and the prices are fair compared to others in my area. Most importantly, they have inventory unlike most other higher end stores in this area which require everything to be ordered and you wait for two months or even more now with the long post COVID backlog. In 2010-2012, I purchased my entire new home (8 rooms) of furniture from this store. So two weeks ago when I wanted a new couch and had shopped at a few stores in Port Orange who had jacked their prices up significantly and had 5 months delivery time, I went back to Havertys in Sharpes and was pleased to find they still have available inventory and a reasonable delivery time so I purchased from them again.
I like the Denver couch that I purchased. But the Denver recliner looks much larger than usual once you get it home so I am returning it to exchange for two smaller chairs. The 3 day return window process is easy and much appreciated. Brian was my sales agent. He has an excellent demeanor (you don’t feel hustled or mislead), knowledgeable and helpful. However, one day during my two week “shop and think” window, I went in to buy and it was his day off so I worked with Donna who was dishonest! She told me that the couch Brian and I had been discussing in clearance had been sold by herself the day before so I’d need to buy that model new and in fact she emailed me the following week repeating the same information misinformation and offering her services to buy the set at full price. What she was unaware of is that in the meantime between seeing her and her email, I had gone back to the store when Brian was working and that item had never been sold so I was able to purchase it!! So yes I recommend Haverty’s as your local furniture store. However, do not give Donna your business because the purchase is about her sale, not about...
