Unfortunately I was let down by this place before I even got a chance to try their product. I was excited to contact them to schedule a cake tasting for our wedding. The only thing that the female who answered the phone seemed to care about is how many poeple would be in the wedidng. When I mentioned that it will be a small wedding, she cut me off with "we don't offer cake tasting for the small weddings". I understand that it's not cost effective to offer a free cake tasting if we order a cake only for 30 people, so I asked if we could pay for small samples of the cakes , instead of buying big pieces for each cake that they offer. She refused and said that we will have to buy the regular portions that they offer to public. She made me feel like my wedding was just not good and big enough for her cakes! There was not even a small attempt to accommodate my request , despite the fact that I was willing to pay for the samples. I did not get a chance to mention that my wedding was an all-day event and we needed 3 different cakes to treat our guests throughout the day.. Had a strawberry shortcake cupcake and a blueberry scone. The cupcake was super moist and fluffy but not so much that it fell apart. Flavor was perfectly balanced. Sweet but not just a mouthful of sugar. The cupcake was honestly the best I've ever tasted. The blueberry scone used real blueberries not those fake bakery blueberry flavored pebbles. It was moist and fluffy on the inside and crisp on the outside. It was fresh out of the oven but had it had more time to set it also would have been perfect . the owners were so happy and friendly. You can tell they truly love their job. Prices were pretty average for a bakery, maybe even on the cheaper side. One of the best places in the United States for high end cakes and cup cakes and cookies. Johnny and her husband produce some of the finest and tastiest cakes and cupcakes we have every had. They don't rival -- they beat -- the best places I have been to in Miami, Chicago , Orlando, etc. These are places I have lived in, and I've eaten some great desserts elsewhere, but Something Sweet has been the best. You don't win Cup Cake Wars unless you are the best. They are the nicest, warmest (small-town-feeling) couple with the best desserts around.
